WrapFactory,
It's really very easy. Once you have done it, it literally takes just a couple of seconds to do it.
This will work on either end of the lift arm. I call those ends "couplers".
If you look at the coupler, you'll see it is rounded with one flat side. That flat side is the side the ball slips into. On each side of the flat, you'll see the ends of a shiny metal band that wraps around the outside of the coupler. Under that metal band, opposite the flat side, is a small molded slot that is just big enough to slip a small flat bladed screwdriver into. Gently pry out on that screwdriver and the ends of the metal band will expand out of their position around the neck of the ball, releasing the ball that is in the coupler. Then you pull the coupler off the ball. It only takes a couple of seconds & it's off.
If you pry too hard on the metal band, one or both ends, will come out of their slots & can be popped back into place with no problem.
To reinstall the coupler to the ball, just press it on. The ends of the metal band will expand around the ball, allowing it to enter the coupler, and then snap back into place around the neck.
I would recommend removing the lower end since it's easier to see and work on.
God bless,
