• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Spyder next year.

:agree:

Anything they'd be releasing in September has to be much further ahead than prototype testing at this point.

I wouldn't bet on a bigger engine just yet...

I'd love to see a 4 or a 6..........

Heck... I'd be happy with a 3 banger...

The guy I was talking to was not familiar with Spyders. He said from his observations the Spyders were real "squirrelly" at high speeds in turns. I explained "Granny" to him and he said these Spyder's definitely did not have "Granny" or anything else like that on the Spyders they were testing.:doorag:

I have direct knowledge from a completely unreliable source that it will be a 1800cc with an extra wheel...directly in front of the frunk, so the driver can line up the center line better! :roflblack:

I suspect you could pull out Lanont's fingernails out before he'd actually reveal what he really knows:yikes::roflblack:

Ride in comfort,

You're not going to get anything out of Lamont by simply pulling out his fingernails. But put a big mean dog in the room and he might tell you whatever you want to know!!

Based on what I've read on this and other Spyder forums, I would not touch a new BRP product for at least 3 years. BRP needs to adopt some of the quality control methods from Yamaha.

I touched a BRP product in January 2008 and I'd be very happy to touch another one... If there were enough of a change to warrant the contact. Touch first, worry later....

Besides, I've found there are enough people out there worrying about stuff that I don't have to! :ohyea:

What is your logic for wanting a 4 or a 6?

A Bigger displacement? Yes I think so but is space a problem? I would think a V4 is narrower then a 3 cylinder and would run smoother as well. Time will tell ??

I would like to see the new model come out with less electronics, manual throttle control then most of us could work on them, and not have to worry about some local-yocal dealer who doesn't give a "Rat's Ass" about us!! 6 speed tranny or alternate rearwheel pulley, 2"more ground clearance,

Ain't this version of the "Silly-Season" fun? :roflblack: I guess that we'll all know more for sure in a bit over 2 1/2 months.

Ain't gona happin !! Electronics slow us down along with soft suspensions!! Legalities, you know like signing that you know you are driving a bike with three wheels and only one brake! BRP don't want to be sued!!

I would like a Harley type motor. So we can have the really load rumble sound, and leak oil all over the place.

On a serous note, I would like cruise control on the RS like the RT has. Also the ability to install on earlier years too. This way I would not have to buy a new RS.

Might be hard as the current RS throttle is a cable where the rt is electronic (fly by wire). Cruise could be added but it's a more complicated addition than with electronic throttles.

This is all your saying Lamont...I say we slip a bit of laughing gas into Lamont's shop and get someone who is qualified to ask certain questions...

Question one...do you have a pet raccoon....Lamont ....yes I do

Question two...do you have a tattoo....Lamont...yes I do

Question three...is BRP putting the Apralia motor in the Spyder....Lamont...Maybe I don't know

Question four...Why is your voice so funny...Lamont...because I think you used Helium instead of Laughing gas:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

that's why I said get someone who is qualified

You really expect BRP to build something so you don't have to buy the new version to get the new stuff? :roflblack:

You can get more ground clearance without raising the whole bike up---- but stuff is already packed in darn tight under this bike......

As far as the Cruise Control.... there are a few aftermarket options that will work just fine on the RS and RSS.......

More HP. More Torque. Speed and Power.....:doorag:
Would they be better served with tweeking the existing 990 engine, i.e. different heads, turbo, or displacement increase? I like the sound of an inline engine, but I just do not see that happening.

Bob called it right when he named this "Silly Season". We seem to go through this exercise every year, with the same wishes and speculation. I don't see these dreams coming true...at least not for a while. The Spyders are still selling well, especially the RTs, so why reinvent something while it is still surging? The RS is a bit longer in tooth, but I see another model rather than a wholesale makeover of any kind. Of course my crystal ball works just about as well as the one the gypsy down at the carnival has, so take anything I say for the nickel it is worth.
