• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New ryder and question for you all...

Parking brake

I agree with akspyderman I always engage the brakes before hitting the PB switch..

just like when arriving at a get off point the first thing I do is engage brakes hit the PB switch then the front trunk switch then the IGN SWITCH....

When returning I reverse the sequence insert key turn on hit the trunk switćh, retrieve the helmet and gloves, mount up, hit the Mode button, engage the brake pedal, start the engine, release the PK switch, then drive away.

it all depends on how you develop your habits!

Sorry guys.... I have a 2011 RTS and if I hold my foot on the brake peddle and hit the parking break switch, if I do not lift my foot as I feel the break peddle come up, I will get a parking brake failure warning! If you hold down against the peddle coming up, it will stall the motor and cause a fault. Trust me... been there done that!

So to the OP, If you sit on your Spyder and apply the brake, then hit the parking brake switch, you will feel the peddle push back on your foot. As you feel this let up on the peddle. If you hold it down you will get a fault.

Take this from experience with a 2011 RTS.

Same

Hi All,

I am a new Spyder owner. Just picked it up yesterday. Pretty 2011 RT-S SE5.

Question for you all. We were told by the previous owner that when we go to put the parking brake on/off we should have our foot of the regular brake. The manual doesn't mention that so I am curious as to if that is truly the case. Would think if you ware any type of incline once you take the parking brake off the bike would start to roll and not in the way you want to.

If anyone has any info on this for me I would really appreciate it!

Thanks.:2thumbs:

I have exactly the same bike ! I bought a set of spider decals and put the large one on the frunk and the two 6 x 10's on our helmets ! Check out the pic !!!!! Have had many compliments !!!!!!!
