• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Spyder delivery date is now Oct. I can, however, buy the dealer demo SM5 for...

... about $1000 less than the total price of the SM5, I ordered on July 3rd. And, the demo already has the Hindle Exhaust, and the 625 mile service. The SM5 demo has 600 miles on it.

So, all the accessories listed would be installed, as well. (By the way, I didn't order mine with the Hindle)

Would you go for it? Of course, before I make a firm decision, I would check out everything on the demo, again.

I've waited awhile. In a way, I think I should just continue to hang on, and wait for mine. Thoughts?

lOW MILES BUT RIDDEN HARD BUY ALOT OF INEXPERIENCED RIDERS I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM A DEMO I DON'T EVEN WANT TO TELL YOU WHAT I DID WHEN CHECKING OUT PROTOTYPES LAST YEAR BUT IT WAS A GOOD WORK OUT :2thumbs:

I would just wait it out, I would never buy a demo ride. Thats just me though, I'm sure there are people out there that have.

:agree: i PASSED UP A DEMO SE5 WITH JUST 50 MILES ON IT. I'V BEEN WAITING AWHILE MYSELF AND OCT 31 IS MY DATE. TILL THEN

I would probably take a demo, especially with 50 miles on it. With more mileage, I would want a larger discount...unless they discounted it plus threw in the extended BEST warranty. Some of the best vehicles we ever had were demo models, at bargain prices.

I bought a demo H2 and saved 5 grand. That was 3 years ago. Still have it with no problems. It's your call, just check it out real good and get all you can in the deal.

:dontknow:Ordered my red se5 on june 11/08 got a call on sept20/08 from the dealer that my:spyder:should be delivered in about 4weeks:mad:

What Scotty said - BEST warranty and more of a discount - then I'd take it!
:agree: If they'll cover your roadster with the BEST warranty, then I'd consider it. The guy who took out the demo I had just ridden sounded like he was riding the clutch a bit and chirped the tires as he left the lot. Made me cringe...

Doesn't sound that bad of a deal to me. I would guess that many demo riders do not abuse the Spyder because they were always cagers. Maybe a little riding of the clutch and heavy on the brakes. The clutch is tough and the brakes are going to squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel anyway.

Does a new one with 3-10 miles mean more to you than one with 625 miles plus free 1st service plus accessories install at no labor cost plus $1K less + ride away now?

Each to their own but I turned down a stock silver SM5 demo 625 miles/1st service complete at $15,200 plus tags/tax/title.

Your deal sounds better- I would be very tempted.

My guess is that your last sentence in your post is what you will do - wait for the new one - - there is nothing like having a virgin vehicle.

Mine was a demo that had 96 miles on it. Those were almost all put on by the dealer salesman riding along with the BRP demos that were there for a couple weeks.
I got it for MSRP but didnt have to pay the $600 prep/shipping. I also didnt have to pay the $400 color differential since it was silver. I made them hook it up to the BUDS and prove there had been no RPM exceedances, etc.

Ive been tickled pink with it since.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone!

I've decided I'm going to wait on mine. Another few weeks won't matter. And, I know, I'll be glad I did when 'another few weeks' gets here. :D

hahah well Greg maybe you will get lucky and it will ship next week.....The weather next week is sounding awsome they said on the news this morning highs in the 60's-70's range starting in the next 5-10 days.....so will be great riding weather!!!!

One plus to this wait is you missed the 100+ degree days lol

I wouldn't give even a second thought to how "hard" it had been ridden during the break in -- especially if the dealer intends to honor the factory warranty. Anything someone can do to break the machine in the first 625 miles is gonna show up LONG before the warranty runs out.

Besides, in my opinion, the harder it gets ridden during breakin, the better! It sounds like a fantastic deal to me. I'd jump all over it and enjoy a few extra weeks riding before the foul weather hits!

Regards,

Mark
