• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Maybe I did the wrong thing ??

Out riding yesterday and was passing a large empty County parking lot ....

Said to Deb -- "want to try riding the Spyder?" A very quick affirmative had Deb at the controls and in command.
She picked it up almost too quickly :D:D with the biggest smile of the day ..
.... then she asks "Do they make them in pink"
OMG -- don't make me sell the truck !! LOL

No photo's -- I was on the back holding tight :)

Yes a white one with pink wrap or pinstriping,WOW.:yes::yes: You can get another truck later, maybe a cheaper one

It might have been the wrong thing to do...
But it's gonna work out okay! :2thumbs:
The Family that plays together... :spyder2::spyder2: ...rides Spyders together!

Your life will never be the same!

Yeah, you did the wrong thing....

...but for the right reason. You wanted her to experience the joy you do when you ryding! But then she enjoyed it SO much... but how you going to haul 2 x 4s when you sell your truck to get her that pink Spyder? Oh - a NEW TRAILER! A larger one for those home projects, and a smaller one for any errands to the store, Kohls, etc... but everyone WILL BE happy ryders!

Hey Rog! Look what it did for me! But you know what, I love it!:clap: She should know how to drive that thing just in case something happens to you!

Let us know which one you buy for her. Yep! It looks like you did it. UPSIDE: Each on their own :ani29::spyder2:'s makes for great riding.

My two :spyder:adventures began in 2009 when I bought a SE5 for the spouse. Again in 2012 when I bought a new 2011 for Linda.

I am beginning to develop a more than strong dislike for most of you.

My wife encouraged me to buy it when I talked about it, she bought into the idea of ryding together, joining a group or two for rydes and then eating.

Then we got it, took some very short rydes, joined two groups. Took longer rydes that include a lunch or dinner, then the "fun" started.

"I am not interested all they do is drive somewhere, then stop and eat and then drive some more, how boring!"
Then there was the, "We don't have anything in common with any of them." My mistake with the comment, "We all have Spyders or other motorcycles." Response, "Big deal."

I said OK, so we will just take rydes on our own. This worked for a while, then it came to, "This is so boring, I cannot see anything from back there, all I do is sit there and see what went past us." So the rydes now are down to 15 to 20 minute spins to a store, a breakfast in town or a friend's house. I even got her to ryde it to the end of the road and back under the guise that I wanted to photograph it with the lights on and coming at me. Still not interested.

Now you folks just plain are making me mad with all of this jolly BS all the time, jeez give a guy a break! Actually if I am honest, it makes me feel good that your spouses are not allergic to the byte of the Spyder.

Enjoy,
Joe

My wife is the opposite. I took her to some parking lots and taught her to drive the spyder. But she is happy sitting on the back. When the weather is nice all I hear is can we take the bike out? We go for rydes long and short, take it to the store and to the bank. We trailer it to Lancaster and Fla, once we were there the jeep sat and all we did was ryde everywhere. We live on Long Island NY so she is afraid of the traffic to get out of the city or we would ryde it everywhere. So we trailer it to our destination then RYDE.

Linda was very reluctant at first. As in, if this "motorcycle thing" is required, then it will be a "deal breaker" as far as we go.

I backed off, and about a month later asked her if we could go on a ten mile per hour tour of my block. Okay, she went. I made sure to keep it real slow, not apply speed where she would feel any side torque. She then suggested we go out into the neighborhood, This gave me 5 miles of sub 30 mph. At the end of that, she suggested we take the highway back. She then became a regular passenger and we did all day rides. At the very last ride of the season (2011), I got her to test drive for about a half hour--back on the original block.

Next season, she became a regular driver. I used my Vulcan 900 and she drove the RTS. Later that summer, I traded in the Vulcan, bought her a brand new left over 2011 RT A&C. She has put on over 24,000 miles as a driver since July 2012. The rest is history.:yes:

hahhahahaha

My wife simply took the RTS and put me back on the Valkyrie.

I have a counter attack in case that happens here
