Rainy Days

:coffee: Welcome to SPRING. It has been raining all week.

Another 70 plus day yesterday. It of course fired up tornado cells. We watched for a couple hours last night as they marched across our county. Actual tornados touched down about 25 miles Northeast of here. The storm fronts came from the SW and moved in a NE direction once they passed through here. The doppler radar programs now actually pinpoint rotation and debris caused by them. We have heard no reports of destruction so that is good.

We are going to get a tornado shelter this season.

For whatever reason...a lot of the bad weather marches west to east across the hill just across the road from us. We are also on the top of a hill, but not quite as high.

One tornado landed about a mile up the road from us, 20 years ago, and one hit Bergman (about 5 miles N) last April 29th. So it looks like we moved from earthquake epicenter area to tornado alley. :gaah:

Warmer Days

:coffee: Welcome to the Warmer Days of Spring. Today Hi 55° mostly Sunny, just might get a little Ryde Time.
Stay Healthy and enjoy your Ryde Time. ....

Going to ride again myself today, did about 40 miles yesterday around town. Ran into another Spyder and visited so looks like I might have another person to ride with. Snow forecast for Wednesday through Friday though.

Looks like a cold front is moving in as the forecast for Friday drops all the way down to a high of 63 - looks like I will need to bring out the heated gear:yikes:
Forecast for next Tuesday (when we head back to MN) will be 85. It was nice while it lasted!

A storm system with lightning, thunder, and heavy rain moved through here last night. We have 50's today. The forecast is for slightly above normal the next couple of days though. It is supposed to be 83 on thur, and 77 on fri.

Yesterday afternoon it was snowing, I got about 4-6 inches of heavy wet snow.

The current temp is 34 degrees and cloudy. The roads were plowed, and salted, or have brine on them!

Spring

Well, the days are getting longer. More sun light time, so the temperature has gone up.
Today's Hi 66°, Friday 69°, .....My Spyder Tip: Ryde Safe ........

Did a little ride yesterday on a quiet road North of us. About five miles from our home, we found where a tornado went through with about a mile touchdown footprint. Big trees were knocked down in a line for more than a mile. Two homes had bad damage. One by big trees hitting the home and a couple with roofs ripped off. Sheds and outbuildings were all over the place. Parts of sheds and similar metal pieces and home parts were just scattered in fields. It looked to us like somebody dropped a bomb on the area.

Weather originally reported the closest tornado as touching down about 25 miles N.

We are starting off the day with sunny and 75 degrees above.

The post above was at 8:40 am. Now it's approaching 2 pm and guess what-------- it's snowing AGAIN. Can't ski, can't ryde, waiting on gun parts-------

Wanted to get out last week... and it snowed. Looking at the weather for the next few days, I might manage it this week. Next Tuesday's forecast is 65 degrees, hope it stays that way.

I hope to get out today if the temp warms up.
Its 34 degrees now with a prediction of 50 degrees later in the day.

Hi Haze and Grumpy,

Hello Lew and Grumpy,

Finally got out on the road. Only got a few miles but it felt great to ryde.:spyder2:
I was gathering groceries.
Filled the Frunk with the food stuffs then took the long long way home.
My rain gear is packed and I'm ready for another ryde as weather permits, later this week.
