• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Love it or hate it - you be the judge

Crikey Martin . After about 5 minutes I still wonder just what is it they do. No I did not watch further.
Replace the wheel cap???

I recall somewhere where you said new rules for 22 -23 - none of this and none of that.

I guess it depends which part of the market you want to cater to.Seems a big price to pay for such a minor dress up part that's only fully appreciable whilst up close and not moving.Even then I'm sure plastic could be made to look as good apart from the machined finish maybe.I mean $220 Aud before shipping is about what I pay for a rear tyre, just doesn't make sense but then again I'm a tight arse so who knows how many you will sell.

While they certainly look to be better quality than the OEM placcy plug things that come in the wheels from the factory, 'Spikes' like that, or in fact, anything pointy or the slightest bit 'sharp' (& there's a definition of 'sharp' in our ADR's that involves something like 'any edge with a radius of less than 8mm', or something along those lines... ) are not permitted on road going vehicles anywhere in Oz! :lecturef_smilie:

If you get sprung anywhere on public carriageways, parking lots, or roads with anything like that fitted to your vehicle here in Oz, it can result in any Police, Roads & Traffic Inspector, Ferry Operator, or Registration Authority issuing your vehicle with a 'Do Not Drive until Repair is carried out, Inspected, & Certified as Road-Worthy' Defect Notice that means you cannot drive it any further at all, not even to the nearest place of repair; that you need to flat-bed it home &/or to a repair place; and that once the repair/replacement is completed, will still require an Inspection to certify that entire vehicle is now fully road-worthy - and the inspection is usually a very meticulous 'fine tooth comb' type inspection for any & every possible failure to meet the strictest definition of our road-worthy standards, not just the wheel centres!! So fitting them & riding on-road in Oz could well cost you Thousands of $$ in flat-bed/trucking fees, repair/replacement fees, plus any Inspection Fees - especially since said flat-bed/trucking may entail fees for trucking it over a fairly long distance just to get it inspected by the appropriate Authority in order to get that Defect Notice lifted - and there's no guarantee that your vehicle will pass that inspection the first time around either, so you may need to take it away for further 'repairs' & then take it back for a second inspection.... or do that more than once!! :gaah:

So no matter how much anyone may like them, they're not legal for road use & so not a good investment for any Oz Spyders!! :banghead:

If that would have been on my F3 when I had my accident I would have had a spike drag across my back as I went head first over the right handlebar and flipped over the right front side into the curb as my Spyder continued on into the roadway.

I wish the best but I don't understand this trend of putting spikes on moving vehicles. I know the world has gone to sh*t , but hopefully it is not quite time for thunderdome ...yet.

My answer if you haven't guessed it yet would be a resounding no.:lecturef_smilie:

They do dress up your wheels, that is all they do :)
22 rule was no bs and no video ads.. i think I still flow that way, but will do little promo on tourson3 :)

To be honest, there is no particular market. In spyder and ryker world there are people that like to be different and people that do like to keep things stock. and that is all fine.
if you are next to your bYke this part stands out actually. its very very significant dress up upgrade.
people do pay much more money for crapy looking upgrades that they loose or they do brake - which can be a case for plastic center caps for exaple, or for example flag pole kits are over 150 USD for set for your trunk and they are half the quality comparing to our spikes. just one idea that pops to my head as that is also something we put on our bYke and i know the cost :)
