• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I set up an appointment for my first service 2 weeks ago and was told it would cost me $120 thats part and labor well I should have got it in writing. Went to drop it off today and had to tell and them and show them in the manual what oil it took and that BRP says to replace the washers. The deal then went on to tell me that no factory bike is running syn. oil. so I pulled the book out again and showed him. know that all this is cleared up I wanted to pay the bill and it was now $201. when I told him that was not right and that I was told $120 when I made the appointmet he told me that was just labor and I called the service tech over that told me that he said well i thought that you bought it here. thats when I snaped and told them to tear up the ticket and give me my key back.
I hate the LINE DID YOU BUY IT HERE. I told him no but i buy all my gear and assories(sp) (fog lights 2 brothers pipe touring windshield) they told me that it dont matter. I said why because I only spent $1200 on gear and not $17000 on a spyder. At this point I dont remember what was said I just remember telling him he should have honored the $120 they first told me and to #@*% off.

the name of that dealer is ALL TERRAIN MOTORSPORTS in grand juction Co.
I will not go back there and I will not send any more business there way.
now that Iam off my soapbox I hope everone has better luck with there dealers.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, real happy with my dealer but him being in NH is not going to help you.

Sorry to read that you had so much trouble with this dealer in Co. I just want to say that there are indeed ethical dealers out there. Nord Ride in Mt. Morris, Michigan is great, both in sales and service!

sorry to hear what happened but i must admit the first place i found to buy a spyder was a shady dealer and i could tell just by talking to them...i then found FRS Powersports here in Memphis and those guys have been great!!!!! Especially for putting up with me lol...

So there are some good dealers out there just hard to find them it seems :-( Good luck finding a dealer that is trustworthy enough to touch your spyder.

Sorry to hear that. We do our own service by warranty work has been done at RPP in Lakewood and they are great. It's a bit of a drive for you but might be worth it.

I think you should look at this as a blessing - sounds like they were not knowledgable about the Spyer if they didn't even know what oil to use.

You don't want a novice working on your Spyder!

While the service rep should have asked you over the phone if you bought from them, I do not fault a dealer for giving preferential treatment to customers who bought from them. My dealer will put a customer who bought from them ahead of someone who didn't and the first time this works in your favor you'll be thankful.

As for not knowing about changing the oil, why I agree they should know how to do this or at least be willing to read the service manual, the Spyder is still relatively new to a lot of techs.

I take my Spyder 100 mile away to have service done instead of 10 miles to the local dealer. There is some good and some bad out there.

Wsup zzneonzz, :congrats:

I was born and lived in Memphis through High School (Hillcrest High:(). I REP both Memphis:) and Chicago:):yikes::popcorn::yikes:, where I came from to get to Pensacola:dontknow:.

Well anyway, I'm in the information gathering, window shopping, saving every cent, stage at the moment. I might be in Memphis for Thanksgiving. Could you PM me the info on the dealer you mentioned. Maybe they have one I can test ryde. The dealer here in Pensacola doesn't, and the anticipation is killing me. If I don't get to ryde one soon...

Thanks,

Talked to the owner James

I was just on the phone for about 30min with James the owner of All Terrain Motorsports. I had a very good conversation with him and worked out alot of problems I had with his service dept. I am going to give him another chance and we will see what happens. He is going to honor the $120 labor and oil and I will pay for the filter. I didnt see any problem with meeting him inthe middle. after all it was not his fualt his guy quoted me wrong. James also listened to me about allot of conserns that I brought up( ie. allot of the problems that you all have posted on here with other dealers). I passed on the spyderlovers web site to him and told him that it might beable to help him understand what we are going through. I will pick up the spyder tomarrow night and will post to let you all know how it worked out.

James if you happen to read this thanks so far....

If I had a BRP dealership I would require my service techs to become very familiar with various forums our here. Face it - together we know far more than any one dealer possibly could.

Got my spyder back

I got the spyder back from the dealer and all went well. All the misunderstanding have been fixed and I have to say that James is a standup guy. I even bought the wife a new helmet from him. Thanks James

That's great. Better to get these things worked out.

Lamonster is it possible to delete the first post of this thread. The problem with the dealer was resolve and when someone comes to this thread that's the first thing they see and its not fair to a dealer who resolves the issue.

Or maybe adding matter resolve by dealer etc etc.

Thanks

P.S just thought we should be fair as the country is going thru a difficult time, business wise.

MY DEALER

is giving this website as reference and to expand the spyder community ... he was very impressed with just some of the knowledge that i have given him that i have received from being on this forum .... :2thumbs:

Ok lets talk about FAIR

BALD you say that its not fair to the dealer. well lets look at this. I get a quote for $120 by the service guy and the service manger doesnt back that price. Is that FAIR? Is it FAIR to me that I had to go out of my way to talk to the Owner? Is it FAIR that I almost missed a charity run that I had been planing for over a month? Had to put in for the day off over a month before I wanted it, Find a babysitter so my wife could go with me. I think that I did a pretty good job telling every one what happened, I told and invited the Owner of the dealship James about our site and I even thanked him. I think the Play by Play was FAIR. In my opinion FAIR and GOOD business would have never made me post this thread. Iam sorry that you dont agree and that is your opinion and I respect that.

Leave the original post as it is. I read everything to get an idea if there was resolution or not, I don't want a censored version. Honest, open communication is why we are here, isn't it?
