• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Let's Talk Horns....

I've found discussions here on SL on just about every conceivable Spyder (and other) topic, but don't recall any discussion about horns.

FWIW - I find the horn on my F3T pretty anemic. I'm not looking to wake up the world and I'm not looking for something obnoxious, but I think getting a louder horn would be a worthwhile safety upgrade.

So, does anyone have any horns to recommend?

Thanks.

Bad Boy

Found the same about my RS. We had the Bad Boy on W's RS and my Beemer. Just the right loud for us. Arounded $50. Probly carried by a sponsor or three here. Can install with relay, tho I did not.

Enjoy your ryde!!

Interesting....🤔

Don't know where you looked but there has been a lot about horns...Stebeil, Wolo Bad Boy, and some crazy mods that will blow you backwards when honked...
I had the Bad boy but found adding a low tone to the oem horn worked better for me and louder for sure.I did mount it outside the body works for better effect. The F3 is pretty wide open. I just spliced into the exsisting wiring to the oem horn...Hold on I will get a picture....

Anyone have any experience with one of these?

I have an earlier model on my Vic, but the current works the same way, just less parts. It's as loud as the others and it gives you the option to not be loud if you want. A quick press and release gets you the not so loud. Hold the button for more than a quarter second and you know it's there. You also have the option to tie it into your headlight and make it flash.

The product is great, the only reason I haven't put one on my Spyder is I've been too lazy to do it yet.

Here's the trumpet air horns I installed on my 2013 RT. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...n-13-RT-Part-1&p=850017&viewfull=1#post850017 I put the same horns on my 2014 as you can see in my sig pic. The big difference was there is plenty of space behind the left grill on a 2014 to install the compressor. The relay for the compressor power is connected to the OEM horn which is still in there and functional. The horns are very loud, and IMO look good where I have them mounted.

We have dual Wolo air horns mounted on our F3's, exposed, one on either side. Used a single 30 amp relay as the OEM horn button would not carry the amperage; the wires at the horn would but not the CanBus plated flex circuit in the handgrip. They get attention. The Stebulis is loud but 2.5X the cost.

I had a Stebel Nautilus on my RSS (sold it today). It was an easy install, never had any problems with it, and it was a LOUD honker! nojoke

I'll certainly consider putting one on my 2018 F3 S when it arrives!

Wolo has 2 air horns, the bad Boy, model 419, and a deeper toned one, model 619, that sounds like a cross between a semi and a tugboat.
