• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is your Sp','der an addition to another or going to replace a vehicle?

I've never driven a motorcycle but have been riding snowmobiles for 30+ years. This new toy is going to let me "ride" almost year round on a new set of "trails". My plan is to try and use on my commute daily instead of my gas guzzling pickup truck. Not sure how well this plan will hold up when the weather gets rough - time will tell!

Amen, brother. I ride sleds and dirt bikes, but no street. The Spyder (with no lean) is aimed at the skill set of those familiar with sleds and ATVs. If you're good at one of those, you will quickly acclimate to a Spyder. It is curious to hear from so many bike riders who also find value in what the Spyder offers.

With less snow in recent years, snowmobilers have less time to enjoy their sport. The Spyder provides those riders with the ability to "ride" the rest of the year and explore new "trails", as carcrazy pointed out. And with nearly 1,000,000 ATVs sold each year and nearly 200,000 snowmobiles sold each year, the Spyder has plenty of potental riders who already know how to ride it. Add to that the personal watercraft riders who don't currently ride a bike, and the non-current-bike potential is huge.

So, the Spyder is my first "street bike" in over 25 years. Stability, visability, sled-like handling, and all of the electronic-wizardry makes it attractive. And, the styling. It replaces nothing, but is in addition to many snowmobiles, ATVs, watercraft and dirt bikes.
