I think this is the safe way arches on pegs (but frankly I do arches, heels and inbetween all the time), as you are sure where your foot is, but even with my foot there I miss the levers, and yesterday I had a problem on the road due to this, and I don't know if it is me, or if I need to fix this somehow?
I was going slow, just passed a speed bump, was in 1st, going to move to 2nd but instead of going into 2nd it went into Neutral. Arg. So I pulled in the clutch again and it made an ugly noise and did not go into 2nd, I tried to go back to 1st being I had lost speed and even that was not going to work, so luckily I could pull over in the crazy Mexican traffic and start over again. I put it in 1st and off I went. I was very worried about this as I do not want to hurt my bike. My nightmare, as we don't have "dealers" here really and mine is 3 hours away. I was wearing my new gloves, can-am mesh ladies gloves. These are new, and trying to wear all the safety stuff I can, but I am not used to these at all in any shape or form. I feel that I am not able to pull in completely the lever with gloves on, maybe this was my problem? The gloves seem to get in the way, like they are thick and that thickness keeps me a tad off of my game. But after that experience I decided to make a better effort and pull in the gear shifter completely (thought I was doing that already though) and it didn't happen again. It was like my bike got confused inside? I think my clutch being so far away from my toe, not being able to adjust (what is the deal with that, we are not all the same, I have a gal here who wears a size European 2! and I am a 5! (size 8) I don't know what that makes her size in US, but man alive, I tell her she doesn't have feet but she has flippers! She cannot go and buy shoes at any women's sized joint, she has to buy kids shoes! Lucky me at least my feet are "normal".) the clutch lever or brake lever on such an expensive bike?! Even the gear shift lever is "hard" for me, puts my hand into numb mode, hehe, I have changed it to other numbers (in case you didn't know, you can bring it closer or farther away) not that I notice any difference with that. I am pretty strong I think, but it is hard on my hand. But I am getting used to it, and it hurts less now a bit. The gloves just came in, so they are new in my mix. But back to the mess. What am I doing wrong? You won't hurt my feelings, and I can take it!
