I saw that this thread had been rejuvenated, and was curious as to what you ended up with for a solution...

I think lasting a riding season is great! I use a high temp black from RS Hughes on my wife's Spyder. I (or she) have to touch up the end of the pipe (same pipe you have) every few months.

Find an old time hardware store or a fireplace supplier that has stove black in paint cans. I used t use it on my Yamaha DT-1, 250cc enduro . It's carbon black and once it dries it won't rub off. Worked back in the 70's

i 'm told that retail for the ceramic coating that i got would be 75 bucks. :thumbup:

Thanks, Coz. That's about the quote I got. Trouble is on the Yoshimura, I'd have to take off the carbon fiber overlay before sending it to them. While I'm sure it's not rocket science, I don't believe I have the right tools to take it off and get it back on successfully. I'm going to have a friend look at it next week to see if it's worth the hassle. Sure would like it done right, though!

Good point. May be worth the upfront effort to have it done right.
