There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HEADS UP DISPLAY - My newest mod

Added a GPS heads up display speedometer today. Nice and bright and easy to read accurate GPS speed now! You can see the speed projected on the windshield in the photos. Please be aware, it is not waterproof and should be removed for washing or in rain. Mine is held on dash with velcro, so it is easy to remove.

Nice....

Looks great and a nice feature for those with the touring windshields... would have to put my chin on the center panel to enjoy the feature :roflblack::roflblack:

I have HUD in my BMW, Obviously, I love it. Does this one also show the GPS directions? I see that there appear to be some of those on Ebay, didn't realize they were so cheap. I'm getting one ASAP and for my van too.

Actually you would be able to see it fine. I have a shorty windscreen and it is easily visible with the windscreen in the up or down position. Just depends where you place it on the dash.

This one only shows speed and compass direction. It uses satellites to calculate speed. It does not give gps directionns. Speed can be calibrated if necessary. It also has auto brightness and overspeed alarm.

Specifics, please...

Would you mind posting a little more information about the equipment you bought on eBay for around $25? I'd be REALLY interested in part number manufacturer, etc.

Thanks in advance!

What are these?

Joel, since I don't know what all you have on your bike, I'm a bit confused and modified one of your pictures with a couple of colored ovals.
What are the two items circled in Yellow and Light Blue in this picture.
JTB Dash HUD.jpg
And I also have to agree with Deanna777, your color matching dash and carbon fiber inserts really do make your dash "POP". Nicely done.

The radar detector is in the yellow circle and the heads-up display projector is in the blue circle.

Here is the link to the Heads up display I found on ebay for $25

Works great!

Took the spyder for a nice long ride and I love the heads up display. Works great! Its nice having the speed projected on the windshield near my line of sight. Its not distracting at all and is easy to read in bright sun. Highly recommended. I should also mention that it has auto brightness and dims at night.

Hi Joel,

Re: Power through Vehicle Cigarette Outlet Jack

So how did you power your unit?

Oh I wish....

As you can see from my signature picture I have an RS with a bit bigger screen with flip...:banghead:

Joel, thanks for the PM and the follow-up to your original post!

I'm buying one based on your recommendation. Again, thanks!

I'm a little late getting to this post (a whole month) but I am really impressed with this.

I got to play with this stuff in its infancy 30 odd years or so ago with its Military applications ... To me this is great ... its functional and not just a bunch of tizzy BS ... I don't have a problem with my display on the 2017 3-T, but this, this is something else again and to me well worth the investment ... NO BS and practical ... What's the Brand and Model of the HUDs if you don't mind me asking .. Thanks again for the post ... Greg S ...

PS ... apologies for the edit ... again having a closer look at the original post .... looks to be a tinted windscreen you have there .... Back in the days I am referring to aircraft didn't have (and still mostly don't) have tinted windscreens, but still looks very impressive .... Looks like I'll have to go 'tint' the inside of my windscreen on the F3-T ... (... easy and cheap enough to do ! .. Thanks again!)
