• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Thanks to all you guys giving me advice. I bit the bullet saturday and now own a 2011 Blue RTS. Already almost ran out of gas, broke the glovebox, and have bugs on the front!! Woot!! I am thinking of getting the prepaid maintenance from the dealer. 3 years of service or 6 services, whichever come first. Its 1500, not sure how much that saves me, any guesses? The pin that holds the glovebox is not catching on the inside left (looking at it) plastic piece that holds it in place, so the glovebox will not close, not sure what I did to it. Guess I will have to take it to the shop.

Congrats! My glovebox is touchy I have to press down just so to get it to latch. My husband figured out the cost on the maintenance and thought prepaying was a good deal. It is nice to take it in and not worry about paying each time. Enjoy your new ride!!:ohyea:

:congrats:..I got the prepay on my new one also...figures out with the cost of everything going up to do it. I am telling you it will be a blast. Had mine a bit over a week and have 400 miles already LOL...600 check up next week.:ohyea:

:congrats:. The glove box is touchy. To close I push down firmly on it rather than punch it. Passed 1,000 mi. on my RTS yesterday and love it more each day. Today I'll do about 100 mi. (in rain of course). No big deal any more.

Ride in comfort,

John

:congrats: on the new RT-S. Sounds like you're having a ball on it. I can tell you that the Spyder is well named because it catches a multitude of bugs on the front end.

I bought a 3 year prepaid maintenance plan with my 2010 RT which cost me $1399. I have had the 600, 3000, 6000, 9000, 12000, and 15000 mile services done. I have the dealership give me a receipt on each service for warranty and record keeping purposes and the total bill for these 6 services was $1919. So, in my case, I would have saved over $500 assuming I had all the service work done by the dealer.

I still have over 22 months to go on my plan and nothing in the contract limits the number of services I can have done in 3 years. Every dealer is different and service costs seem to vary tremendously across the country. That's just my experience.

Prepaid service was not an available option from Bradford Marine. They only offer their warranty program and not BRP's warranty claiming theirs is better. I suspect we were taken based on what we paid and the problems we have had with the trailer, etc.

Thanks guys. I got the BRP Best for the warranty. They price matched the one that someone pointed me too. The pin that holds the glovebox closed is loose on the left side and can be slid out of the right one, so it will not even allow it to close. Maybe I can deal with it until the 600 mile service. Rode it in to work today (its gonna be smoking hot when I go to leave, lol), and have been out there several times showing it to coworkers, lol. I'm over 300lbs (trying to get down!!) and I think I may need to adjust the front shocks to a firmer setting. The bike leans in the corners a little too much for my liking. Have not played with the back shocks settings on the dash yet, but don't think that would help with that anyway.

:congrats: on your :f_spider:. As for the glove box, mine would not latch when I picked up the bike. Since I picked it up 500+ miles from where I live, I brought it up to the dealer near me that I use for maintenace. They did the 600 service on it and ordered a new part. It's in and the glove box now latches and locks when I lock the handlebars.

Is there a mount to mount my cell phone? I would like it to be in the center to use the navigation features.

:welcome: and :congrats: on the new :spyder2:

Sounds like Best Warranty is the way to go. BRP product and should be honored by BRP authorized dealers.

Hawk, :congrats:. As to the front shocks, I had asked that they set mine up when I got it. They didn't. Spent the first three weeks on setting '2'. Took it in for its 600 mile yesterday and asked that they put it up to at least '4'. What a difference! Does you dealer have mechanic available on Saturday? If so, I would call them and reserve time to get that glove box fixed and the shocks stiffened.

They do service on Sat, but they don't do appts on Sat. I probably will wait until the 600 mile service, since that will only be in a week or so. I will have them do it then. How many settings does the front shocks have? Also, I have not adjusted the rear. I should play around with that some I guess.
