There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Got a PedalBox, getting VSS Fault & Limp Mode msg - any ideas/fixes?

I suspect my Limp Home fault might be related to the bike checking something every few start-ups since it seems to happen every 10th start-up or so (not exact numbers...I'll have to double check over the next few weeks). It's also possible it might be ground related and I'll double check that as well the next time I have the panels off for something (likely when I install my shocks). So far, it always clears if I turn it off, wait a few seconds and start it back up. Interestingly enough, it will always throw the same Limp Home fault on the second start up but it always clears after a second or two whereas the first time it never clears until I restart the bike.

When did you buy yours bigpoppa? I betting between January and June of this year? Are you getting a P0122 error? Did you disconnect it? First, turn off your Spyder all together and remove the PB. Hook up your OEM AND TURN ON. Then Turn off and disconnect OEM and Connect the PB. Turn the key; program the PB by twisting the throttle slowly 5 times; turn the key off; then turn the Spyder on; and see if it still gives you the error. Try that and see if it works. This is straight from PB's cooperate customer service as in checking that I was told to do first.

Thanks for the tip. I bought mine at the end of July. I’ve already initiated a return on it (PB Pro) and I’m getting the PB+ instead. I’ll make sure to do the programming on the PB+ in the manner you posted.

Hi All,
I recently purchased 2022 RT Ltd and as must as I really like this bike, found that throttle response on it was somewhat lacking and my hand start hurting after a while. So, after reading up about Pedal Box/Commander I opted for a Pedal Box due to its water resistance. After I installed and calibrated it (as per provided instructions and YouTube video), I took the bike for a ride and was instantly impressed with significant improvement. Unfortunately, about 15 minutes into my ride, I got a VSS Fault, and the bike went into "Limp Home Mode". Everything I read about this issue points toward the problem being bad calibration, but I still have this issue after recalibrating the unit several times. Has anyone had a similar situation and can recommend a fix? Really hoping it was something stupid since I REALLY like the feel of the bike with the Pedal Box installed.

Thanks in advance,
Alex

I got a reply to my email from Lamonster. They suggested me to re connect it, that it might not of been connected tight enough and one of the pins were not connected well. I did that making sure everything was tight, then reprogrammed it to the throttle. I took it for a test run and this time everything was working fine.

Not sure if this is the cause of your issue - but in case you don't know - DO NOT change settings while the throttle is "open" at all. A jump in the curve with the throttle open will definitely cause a limp mode error. This is true on the Pedal Box and Pedal Commander both. If that's the cause of the limp mode though - a simple shut down and restart of the Spyder will remove the limp mode. I've changed settings and accelerated too quickly after doing so - thinking it had set and it hadn't yet set. Triggered the Limp Mode.

Take a look at the 2 replies I attached. After reinstalling it I have not had any problems..

I had a PedalBox and it gave me the same limp mode codes. I tried all the suggestions and even tried what PedalBox support told me to do. Nothing fixed the problem so I bought a Pedal Commander, which I have placed under my seat, and so far (knock on wood) after 2 years, I haven't had any issues.
