• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gauge Start Question...

I am a new owner of a 2012 Spyder RT SE5 purchased on 3/24/12, and I just noticed, that when I turn the Key to "On", the Oil lite is lit. It stays that way until I start the bike, then goes out. Is this normal? I know the Oil was full when I left the dealer, as the Tech showed me during the "Get to know you Spyder" moment... :dontknow:

Thank you in advance,
Kagey

Yes it's normal just like most other vehicles.
Just look at the oil light on your car!

Called my dealereship about the same thing.

I had my RT in for gauge issues and they had to hook it up to the computer to see what was going on. When I left the shop I noticed the same thing. The oil gauge icon stayed on until I started the bike then it went out. Dealership said it might have been an update, but it made me feel better to hear that ya'll have the same thing going on.

Enjoy your ride!!!

Welcome to the Spyder-Hood neighbor

:congrats: & :welcome: You've found the :firstplace: on the www for anything & everything Spyder related. Are y'all planning on going to SpyderFest at the end of April?:hun: Its the BEST Spyder Rally in the country, IMHO:firstplace:

Most vehicles operate this way. It is a safety check to see that the idiot lights work. The time to worry is when the light does not come on when you turn on the switch (before the engine is started). That indicates a malfunction. Not sure if this is covered in the Spyder manual, but most vehicle owner's manuals do explain it.

At your service; sir...
