• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gas Price Survey

The prices just took another jump in Anchorage.

4.14 for reg
4.24 for medium grade
4.34 for premium.

I am now guessing 4.25 and up by the end of the month.

The gas companies are right on track for 5.00 a gal gas by the end of May.

Out here it depends on where you go , In my town there's only one station, 389.9 for Reg.87, 417.9 for Prem. 93
One or two towns over 344.9 for Reg. 87, 364.9 for Prem. 91.
I only use Prem.

Gas Prices

Filled up today at the same RaceTrac station I did 22 days ago. All grades are up 9 cents a gallon. Put 3.639 gal of 93 octane in :spyder: at $4.139 gal. 87 octane was $3.859 gal 28 cents a gallon difference between 87 and 93, we'll see if MPG changes.

Here in central Michigan...

...gas has been at 3.99 a gallon for regular unleaded for the past month. Here in Lansing, the home of state government, we find the price usually jumps about 20 cents a gallon on state pay days (but there is no "price fixing".) Figure we'll be looking at close to $5.00/gallon before the summer is over.

HERE IN Sherwood Park Alberta where we have 5 of the largest oil refineries in Canada we are paying per/liter

109.9 regular
115.9 midgrade
122.9 premium

crazy paying this much when I live 10 km from the refineries:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Gas is no longer tied to supply demand as much as it was. Now it seems they just raise the price because they can and their only consequences are higher profit margin.

This pattern has been in place for at least three years. Start raising prices in Feb-March. Continue raising prices throughout Memorial day. Run the summer at the highest price in our history. Drop it down about a dollar a gallon--which is way higher than they started from, and we have our new price base for the next year in place.

We're averaging around $3.85/gal for regular right now but we've seen it for $3.99/gal at some places (one BP station had it for $3.99 when the store on the opposite corner had it for $3.81/gal...not much business savvy there!). Erags has been using an average of $5/gal in his cost estimates for our summer trip this year.:yikes:
