There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. FUNNY STORY!

I traded my Burgman 650 in for my RTS in April. I have been defending my Scooter that will go over 100 MPH for years so the occasional remark about my Spyder is nothing.

(My first SpyderLovers post by the way)

Just after SpyderDeb got her's, we were at one of the local HD stores for an event. The group we generally ride with were giving her c##p about the toy, that thing don't really go does it. She nonchalantly stated it would lay rubber. After a few more "..yeh, yeh..." comments, she started it up and dropped a nice long black mark in front of the store.:2thumbs: Never got any more guff about being a toy.

Happy Trails!

I'm getting great feedback. I recently visited what might be called an outlaw club. These guys are hard core HD riders. Several said they are probably getting to an age where they might have to consider one. I am not club material, just an old man with a trike. I was surprised at the great reception.
Red Machine or S.O.S ?:ani29:

Yeah, 99% of the feedback I get is positive and curious. There is always the occasional Harley idiot that has the 'tude. I don't let it get to me; I just smile and let it go. It just doesn't mater man! But they do tend to shut up when they see how fast she is!

Where I ride there are a few guys that have these AWSOME Ducati's and when I'm runnin the twisties and I see one of them coming I get over and let them go. They always wave and then just disappear! But I think they are always surprised when on the return trip they see that I am not THAT far behind them!

We finally met and talked bikes and riding etc. It was the ultimate in cool! I was in awe of their machines, and they wanted to know about the Spyder!

I bought mine for me!!! Not to please anyone else but if it does i will talk to them Heck if anybody has a ? i will be glad to answer it with a smile. I have done some things to the bike that i like and don't like but i guess that is what makes it mine.

:agree: 100% I know there are people out there that do not like what I have done to my Spyder, but that doesn't bother me a bit. I also do my best to be nice to everyone that asks questions about it. I did have one lady ask if they were for kids, and I replied "only if you don't mind your kid doing 130 mph". She got a very shocked look on her face, said "wow, well they are very cute", and then walked away. :D

I have also shown other motorcycle riders that, even without a clutch to dump, the Spyder will smoke the back tire with no problem at all.

:agree: I have gotten mostly good feedback from everyone I run into. The interesting thing is how many of the older Harley riders come over and start asking questions about it. After you explain things, then they tell you it is getting harder for them to hold their machine up and they are thinking about switching to a trike. I, of course, immediately tell them to go check out the RT as it would probably be a much better fit for the way they want to ride.

I have also had some great conversations with crotch rocket pilots as well. When I was on The Dragon, I moved over to let one pass me by. When we got back to the lodge, he was surprised at how soon I showed up after he did as well. He said I was maintaining a very good pace on it, and he was somewhat surprised by that and had all kinds of questions now. :D

welcome:thumbup:

Talking with my Harley buddy yesterday (he always gives my grief about my two front training wheels). I told him I was going to buy a Fat Bob. He was all excited until I told him I was going to modify it with two wheels up front. :roflblack: All the ribbing he gives me. It was funny to see the expression on his face. Then he just shook his head. All kidding aside. He always says " it doesn't matter what you ride as long as you are riding"

I agree! :2thumbs: My spyder is for me - not any one else.
I've discovered kids love it! They wave, tug on mom/dad trying to get them to look. I tell hubby I'm now a "kid magnet"!! Everywhere I go, the kids see it and get so excited.

I point to the 200 mark on the speedometer and that gets their jaw dropping (I don't mention that its that high for displaying KPH)
:agree: Same here.

some have even told me that they are jealous of me and my spyder
I ride almost everyday and I get those looks and questions all the time.

How much .... aaah does it go fast.....( I tell them how fast I go sometimes) oh really...
and then the conversation goes on to handling. their jaws drop when i tell them.
also I ride with a group of bikers, they all were curious and once they saw me riding my spyder, everyone respects it now.

sometimes it is annoying. but hey they havent see a Spyder.
for those that are polite I let them touch and Sit on . they are thrilled.

I ride on Rt 78 and sometimes I pass those yamahas, harleys and kawasakis... I can see their eyes popping out.

I love my Spyder.:spyder2::spyder2:

:agree: Riding behind a school bus and your like a "Rock Star."
Where ever I go the kids give me all kinds of Hand and Arm signals?
I hope they mean good things?:yikes:

I took a little cruise today and came to a stop light and a kawasaki mean streak was behind me. He got kinda close, I was thinking the usual person just checking the bike out, so I turned around and the guy kinda giggled at me??? My pride wouldnt let that pass so I tached my bike up to 6 grand and dumped the clutch, I did about a 100 foot burnout and left this guy. Keep in mind my bike isnt stock, I have a pipe, jb pro and evo air filter, I tuned the juice box myself. I sometimes think people dont have respect for the spyder as much as they should. When he finally caught up to me he said " I didnt think those bikes ran that good" . Anybody else run into that on the street??

I was out last Saturday morning and came up to a light next to a Corvette convertable. The gut looked over and said "that's a cute little bike". We weere first at the light, so when it turned green he took off. The look on his face as i kept up was as they say "priceless". At the next light he had me pull over to get a good look at the :spyder2:. Need to say he is a convert and wanted to know who sold them.
My job. . . . "Converting Idiots one at a time":2thumbs:

Speaking of classics, is the Effie in the avator yours? I have a mild custom 53 pickup.

After my adventure yesterday it was time to fill up (35MPG this tank!) the lady that runs the station came running out and just couldn't believe what she was looking at! We talked for a good while about it. She even ran in, grabbed her cmaera and took some pictures! So they do get the attention, that's for sure!

My guys that I cross paths with on the way to work (I've mentioned them before) are all double-taking big time now because they are used to seeing me on the RS-S. Now I'm on 14 and it is taking them off guard! It seems the Street Pilots like 14 a bit better. Of course that's conjecture on my part, but the way they look tips it off! :D

I believe most of us have had to demonstrate the horsepower a time or two. Of course I try to use restraint.

I didn't see no red lights! So I must have used restraint. :ohyea:

There are lots of 2 wheelers in my area- I mostly get thumbs up or waves but there is one BMW cruiser who gives a very animated, disappointing headwave. A few weekends ago he was following me through a deep, wooded road that transitioned into a packed tar and chip road when I saw him pull over in my mirror. The next time I saw him I still got the head shake followed by a thumb up.
