There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Front 12v accessory port?

I just received my CD service manual and was looking around. In the electrical section for the 2014 RT, the fuse diagram for fuse 7 refers to the "front/rear accessory ports.". I had already moved the fuse to position 7 for my battery tender in the rear trunk.

Is is there a front 12v accessory port I was not aware of?

Optional equipment.

If you want to install one the pigtail is already behind the front trunk.

Negative! Below information is from Can Am's website. Your Spyder is wired to receive this. The connection is tied up behind the frunk and above the battery. You would have to drill a hole in your frunk to mount the kit and then connect the harness. I do not know if you would have to remove the frunk to get to the connection. I just know the approximate location.

Older models you have to drill the hole and newer models the hole is already there. I think the change happened 2013 with the new trunk bucket.

Options..!!

if your looking for better location you can plug into the exsisting wires and put the power plug up on the dash. Bit of a chore on the RT's but now would be the time to do itas well as other mods while your there. I got mine on ebay for $4.99 but amazon and car parts have them as well.

Not sure why I would need a 12V outlet in the frunk. I just purchased a Battery Tender 12V outlet accessory, which is weatherproof, and attached it to JT's dash mounting bar where I mount my phone. The cord comes with an in-line fuse, so I just snaked that down behind the front panels and attached it right to the battery. Located the fuse in the battery compartment so that it would be accessible. Had to partially remove a couple of panels, but not the whole frunk.

The outlet also serves as a handy place to plug in my battery tender without having to go around the frunk liner or the battery access cover. I figured that this configuration is even easier than using the outlet in the rear trunk.

The frunk is where my helmet goes. Only compartment big enough to hold it. 12v outlet to charge the SENA headset.

Just FYI, there is a battery charger port in my frunk as well, placed there by the dealer before delivery.

I wired my electrics to the battery by drilling a hole in the plug and wiring to the battery. Cig plugs fall out while riding and gets cold quick

Sounds good do you have pictures or anything I would like to do something like this.

Best Location

In your opinion, which is the best location for the 12V connection - in the frunk or under the seat and WHY?

My reason for asking is surrounding the ventilation, heat factors, and safety for phone charging and other accessories.

Please share.

Thank you!!!
