• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

noticed a lot of post make some sort of referance to aviation...just wondering. How many Spyder owners are also pilots?

I myself had to walk away from getting my privite pilot license after about 25 hours (Life:wife, kids. job), but have since taken to the air in ultralights (Powered Parachute to be specific).

Hi from central Texas. I am a corporate pilot flying 50-75 hours a month flying a heavily equipped King Air B200. I also have a Cessna 172 and a powered parachute. Just purchased an SE5. Would be interested in hearing from other Spyder owners in the neighborhood!

Hope you enjoy your new spyder, sidaras.

i fly ulterlights, had 7 at defferent times, the one with me on the left i built from a kit.challenger aircraft.and i had 6 others that werent so good .but all were fun.

Inactive fixed wing license - severe clear only! Cessna 150 and 172.

I thought you had to have a pilot's license to fly Ultras? Cost and limitations (restrictions, airspace, etc) of recreational flying has discouraged me from reactivating my license. Ultras could be the answer.

Perhaps one of these ... 0-60 MPH in 3.9 seconds!: http://www.eaavideo.org/video.aspx?v=635469588001

F103 still apply, although tuff to "legally" meet. I'm considering the new Light Sport License... it has limitations, but requires a lot less hours etc. and fit's the only type flying I want to do anyway.

I always had the desire to get a pilots license, but money mostly kept me from doing it. In Alaska, we have one of the highest concentrations of pilots (1 in 11 or so has a license). I guess thats why I have been into motorcycles since 1964. Its the next best thing.

I formerly held my sailplane ticket, but never had the $$$ to continue that, or progress beyond my student ticket for power.

Earned a license to fly Ultralights in Australia. Flew a Drifter. Have about 140 hours on that plane. Loved it! The Drifter is a cable braced, rag-wing, tail dragger with a 550 rotax engine. Got my first taste of true fun while learning spin recoveries. Instructor finally caught on why I was spinning so long before recovering.:D

Came back to the states to find out the Drifter is a "fat" ultralight in FAA's book thus quasi legal / illegal. Didn't want to put my foot in that mud puddle so tried for my PPL.

Found an aerobatic school and never wanted to fly straight and level after that. Its awesome to be in control of your own roller coaster ride. Woo Hoo!!

Finances reared its ugly head and the party was over...

Flying Spyders? Not sure about that... I've heard of Barking Spyders though!

I've got my private pilots license but I don't fly anymore. Love it but too expensive unless you have a reason or some way to make it pay.

Used to do a lot of hang gliding until my brother wrecked our kite. He said he only wrecked his half but somehow my half didn't seem to work very well after that. Glide ratio just wasn't the same somehow. :dontknow:

I have always wanted to. There are several of the gliders with motors that fly around the lake during the summer. I heard those are not even considered ultra lights and don't require a license to fly...:dontknow:. I would do that given the chance...
