Here I go jumping in...
I've gotta say that in this day and age, nothing is unbiased. If you read online reviews of a product or establishment, many of them are written by the owner or family of the establishment or product that have "glowing" words of praise, of course. My point being...anybody wanting to know the "real deal" with a product will research and take an amalgamation of opinions, not just one. When buying my 2013 ST-L (which I am VERY happy with btw), I researched over 2 years. Went on dealer test rides of all the models, and talked to anyone I ran into who was riding one. When asked, I too will "sing the BRP Praise Song"...but I will also explain that like any other high end machine, care must be taken, and that like any other performance machine, they are succeptible to certain things such as heat (My Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GSX had aluminum heads and they were known to crack).
Any line of machine that uses moving parts is going to have some succeptibilities...but if the product itself is a sound one, it will thrive and grow exponentially in sales. The Spyder is such a product...IMO.
