Edit: Title should be "First Day of School"
Remember when you couldn't wait for the school year to end? You looked forward to summer and all that free time with no homework to do. Then by the end of summer (we had a whole 3 months!) you couldn't wait for school to start again!
I picked up my 4th grade nephew from school today. They had a half-day today then will start their full schedule. He was so excited about it. He knows most of the kids in his class, likes his teacher and just talked non-stop all the way home.
I brought back memories of yearly new-starts -
You've forgotten all the drudge of daily homework, and look forward to learning something new, getting another step closer to . . . 5th grade . . and middle school! You can't wait to get grown up and then . . .
Well. . . that's no fun. :banghead:
Oh, to be a kid again!

I brought back memories of yearly new-starts -
- new people (ours is an Army town and there are always new kids)
- reacquainting with kids from previous classes
- another chance to make a good first impression on the new teacher (and ride that as far as you can before she gets to know the real you) :lecturef_smilie:
