There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Finally the end of my rant

Ok, I promised that I would report back on the resolution of the shoddy work done by a dealer here in San Diego. First of the dealer that caused all of this is Fun Bike Center. I only mention them to hopefully save a future buyer the grief of having their Spyder messed up as bad as ours was. We have been without our bike for almost 8 weeks total now going back to second week of August. As you may remember it started with the 13 K maintenance, leading to a huge oil leak. Well I had enough after two attempts to let them correct the issue. I then took it to Escondido Cycle Center. After they had it for a couple of days they started telling me that not only was it not serviced right, there were multiple fasteners and clamps missing under the Tupperware. I called and emailed BRP about this and complained about the first dealer. Now let me say that Herm the mechanic, Jimmy the service manager, and Matt the GM were all terrific. They explained everything that was going on and what was needed. When ever I called one of them was available to talk to. Herm told me that the service register in the computer had never been reset and the codes had never been cleared. Now we have owned this since July of 2013 and the first dealer has been our only service provider. Well with it all said and done my discussions with BRP and Escondido Cycle speaking with BRP, BRP agreed to cover the cost of repairs totaling close to $1300.00. So with that said if you ever need work done in So Cal, take it to these guys and you will be treated right. I want to extend a huge atta boy to BRP for making this right! Oh By the way one of the clamps that was missing was on the fuel line coming from the fuel tank! Can you say rolling bomb! ESCONDIDO CYCLE CENTER ROCKS!

Glad to hear

About a resolution that made you happy. I really thought you would have to eat it.

Very upbeat about BRP.

Two and a half years ago, I kept hearing a lot of crit of the BRP customer service. This wasn't their fault (and I don't know if it was their responsibility or not, as those are two different things), but clearly they stood up and righted a wrong, and took great care of you.

There will always be dealer issues, but it makes me feel very good to see BRP taking good care of us and stepping up to the plate.

I'm very glad to see that you've got your Spyder back and all eventually worked out.

Great news..!!

we will ryde again soon...bought mine from fun bike center but thats it. Great deal but then outta there...

Its a shame!

It is a real shame that good service is so hard to find. I have always done all my service on my Goldwings and sport touring bikes just for that reason. I bought my 2014 RT-S from a dealer I have never traded with before and I am hopeful he will provide reliable service at a fair price. I am getting too old and lazy to do this stuff!

Yeah!

Yes I am a happy Ryder again. I am glad that BRP stepped up. BRP and I had several discussions about the offending dealer and what I thought was their responsibility to their owners. The new dealership Escondido Cycle Center went to bat for me also. The guys at ECC were able to convince BRP that this was not my fault and the fault of a BAD dealer. So we are ryding again!

Perhaps you can now change your handle to something less offensive now that things worked out and your now a happy rider. Glad BRP done the right thing and now you can enjoy your ride.

I'm so glad to hear that BRP came through for you! I am fearful of bad maintenance and bad dealers, having purchased a 2013 RT Limited last month, which is still under factory warranty, as well as a service plan from the dealer I bought it from. I do intend to start doing maintenance myself eventually, but will use the plan as a way to take my time and learn about this machine.

I remember those guys

I spent 11 years in San Diego while in the Navy. Got there in 1979 and Fun Bike Center was the worst place for service even then.

Ended up taking my business over to Brattins on El Cajon Blvd.

Sorry you had to go thru that, I sent a thread out on 7/21 FUN BIKE DONT BELIEVE IT outlining all the issues I had with them. BRP needs to pull their franchise or audit their operation. I am glad BRP and ECC took care of you.

Thank you for posting about the resolution of your issues. Bad service from some dealers has really been one of the big issues concerning our brand.

Glad to see you got things solved and that BRP also gave an assist.

Things are looking better.

My experience with BRP customer service has been nothing less than outstanding!!! To the OP,,, I'm glad you had a positive outcome as well😃

Well Hell

Glad you have found a good dealer that will and has taken care of you. Wishing you nothing but good times ahead.:2thumbs:
