F3-S trailer hitch?

New member
I was disappointed to see the new trailer hitch only works for the touring versions of the F3...
(My dealer wasn't sure when they sold me the F3 a year ago, but they thought a trailer hitch would be available when I asked...grrr)

Any reason it won't fit on an F3-S? Is the backend / wiring really all that different?

the swing arm is different, that's probably the biggest difference. there are aftermarket hitches for last years f3!!

Ah didn't notice the swing arm was different, its mostly covered by the storage compartments. I don't have a trailer at the moment, so I'm more or less venting and asking why, since I've wanted more utility out of it. When I saw the storage was built on and not an add-on, I was kind of like Damnit! My biggest complaint about the F3 over the RS was the onboard storage being cut in half. I'm likely buying their saddle bags this weekend ...

I really wish they launched their entire lineup in a single year, jumping in to purchase an F3 was one of those "man, i really wish it had this, and this, and this".... and of course they come out with that the next year.... grrr

Nice. I looked the specs up on how big they are, can you fit a helmet in them?
Do they fit on a stock spyder other products of theirs to make it fit?

Ouch, $1968... I was already cringing at BRP's $1330 price.

full size and 3/4 helmets, it's a no go because of the shape. 1/2 helmet no sweat!! some people have posted negatively about the corbins for the f3. don't know if they got an earlier version, or what, but we like ours!

If you are looking for a hitch for the 2015 call Bushtec. They don't have it available on their website yet but they have a template and will build you one if you call and ask about it. Waiting for mine to be completed. A member here, Fencepost, took his F3 to Bushtec and they designed one.

F-3 HITCH

Hitch
EBay $249.00 shipped.
:agree:.....with this over the BUSHTEC, not just because of the price. This design puts the STRESS ( pulling ) onto the AXEL ( same as BRP's )........The Bushtec attaches to the FENDER supports of the swing arm...BRP did not think they were strong enough for the HITCH and that's why They didn't use them.......Taking the Axel off is a pain ,however you only need to do it ONCE.....All belt adjustments can be made without further removal.......Mike :bbq:

Yes it's a two person job.
You can also remove the ball half if you don't like bumping into all the time just four bolts!
Nice setup at a nice price. I'm happy with mine.
I've heard the Bushtec is close to $500. you'd have to call and ask them.

The Bushtec hitch is an all new fender support you just transfer your fender to the new support. What makes this hitch is that the receiver is removable when not needed and retains the OEM look. As a side note, Lewis @ Electrical Connection is making the wiring harness in two parts so you can remove the section going to the trailer plug again retaining the OEM look when not needing the trailer.

I purchased a hitch from my dealer, and it fit my 2015 F3-S. It's the same hitch I put on my GS, with some modification from BRP for the F3......

Just saying

Really do not see how that hitch can fit an F3 or F3S. The F3-T and F3L as well as your old GS have a swing arm made of rectangular tubing. The swing arm on the F3 and F3-S is round tubing. How do you propose to insert the rectangular tubing hitch into the end of the round tubing swing arm?

There is a F3-S hitch and plug and play wiring harness on E-Bay

I ordered the F3-S hitch off of E-bay for $249 and received it in less than a week. Great product and fit. This is the one for the F3-S not the new "T" hitch. The seller is Traileretc out of Canada. I contacted the seller for a wiring harness. He sold me a true "Plug and Play harness for the F3-S only. This is a wiring isolated harness with full wiring, truly not cutting or patch in's. I believe if I had purchased this as a package he might of made a better price, I paid $99.00 for the harness and would do it again today. Contact Joel at [email protected] have no connection with Traileretc, just a satisfied customer that had difficulty finding products for my F3-S

This hitch fits the F3 and F3-S. It is from the F3-T and the F3 Limited. Part # 219400519.

But, you have to remove the rear fender and replace it with the Chopped rear fender Part # 219400597.

How do I know, I installed one.....

Hi "2faston3",

I have ordered the hitch, part number 219400519 ($750.00 AUD) and I am about to order the upgrade rear fender part number 219400597 ($603.00 AUD).

Can you please post a photo of your setup. Much appreciated.

Someone may be able to confirm, from what I understand the BRP hitch comes with special shock absorbing bushes of some kind and the "after market" does not have the shock absorbing bushes.

Thanks guys,

Jim

My wife has a 2011 RS-S with Corbin saddle bags and Corbin trunk box.
I have 2016 F3-S Triple Black

That Hitch will not work unless you have a very good fabricator.

Hi "ABQSpyder",

I ordered the BRP hitch at Christmas time when my wife bought us a BRP RT-622 trailer. As there is no F3, F3-S hitch available "yet":dontknow:, I am fully expecting to modify the hitch mount to suit the F3-S. I was a bit concerned that the after market hitch might not have the special shock dampening bushes which the BRP have. Also BRP AUS advised my dealer that they would not honour the bike warranty if I put an after market hitch on the bike... I have no problem modifying the mount as I have hobby milling machines and lathes at home. So pretty confident that I can work something out. The modified hitch and/or mount will need to come off when the F3-S goes to the workshop for servicing and maintenance - Or - To preserve my warranty, I can just fit the hitch to our 2011 RS-S;)

The statement made that the BRP hitch would fit if the rear fender were replaced with the more sporty version, did sound positive. After seeing a picture of the rear fender upgrade, I like it and I think I will order one despite the issues with the hitch.....

My hitch still has not been shipped from BRP AUS, they have stock but haven't released it due to ADR (Australian Design Rules) confirmation.

Can hardly wait to hook up the 622 trailer to my Triple Black (or the RS-S;))....

There are currently TWO hitches available for the STANDARD F-3 type swing arm......Neither are made by BRP...One is made by " Bushtec " which I think is less sturdy than the one available on E-bay from a Canadian Co., The one from Canada requires you to re-move the AXEL , put on the plates and put the axel thru the holes.... It's a pain , however you only do it ONCE and imho is much stronger than the one from Bushtec. Because those tabs were never meant to be used as anchors for a Hitch - if they were BRP would have done it.....Plus the one from Canada is a bargain at $ 230.00 (?).........You don't need any cushion in the driveline if you use a Stiff Hitch.........PM me if you want to know about that.........Mike :bbq:
