F3-S trailer hitch?

Hello All,

I have de-installed the hitch and returned it and fender eliminator. The fender eliminator was never installed. I just could not justify (or my wife) the $1200 I would have spent (did) for a hitch $600 plus for the hitch and $500 plus for the fender eliminator..... Took it back and bought the bags instead. Now I have a trailer for sale.... Anyone interested?

Me

Wow, you posted on the 27th of March, then this today. Anyway, for anyone who is interested, I have ordered the hitch and will post what I find when I it finally arrives. If i need to machine adaptors, i will provide details. I ordered the hitch weeks ago, but here in AUS, the hitch needs ADR approval before it can be sold in AUS....
Later guys,
Jim

Yes I had the fender off and hitch on, was trying to fabricate a rear fender illiminator of my own. Was not satisfied with what I came up with... So did the math, looked at the future... And decided not to spend all that money to pull the trailer a couple of times a year - spent it on bags which I would use more often... Hence the trailer for sale.

Well,,,, I finally found some time to fit the new fender and BRP hitch to my 2016 F3-S Triple Black. The fender looks fantastic. An excellent "upgrade". As for the BRP hitch? "WONT FIT". The mounting lugs for the stock fender frame are in the way - so upgrading the fender in order to fit the BRP hitch is a waste of effort..... I will look at getting one of the aftermarket hitches.....
My wife has a 2010 RS-S - I will try the BRP hitch on that and pick up an after market hitch for my F3-S Triple Black.... Disappointed that I took notice of someones post on this site:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:...

I really wish they launched their entire lineup in a single year, jumping in to purchase an F3 was one of those "man, i really wish it had this, and this, and this".... and of course they come out with that the next year.... grrr[/QUOTE]

:roflblack: And that my friend is what is called marketing and product development. An art, a science, strategy and more. In short the most difficult segment of manufacturing is not the assembly, the parts, or even the invention, but the development and bringing it to the market.

They brought the product out, watched what people did with it, heard what they wanted and brought it to market quickly. That is how it works.:banghead:

in very short terms, "If you can figure out what people will buy, you can write your own check with any company in the world!"

Hi Joe,
I understand what you are saying. The thing I am annoyed about is the comments made by another user a few posts ago, saying the BRP hitch will fit the F3 if the rear fender/guard assembly were replaced with the upgrade fender.... I purchased the hitch and the fender only to find that the hitch had no way in hell of fitting on to the F3 swing arm.... Anyway I will solve the problem.....

Ah didn't notice the swing arm was different, its mostly covered by the storage compartments. I don't have a trailer at the moment, so I'm more or less venting and asking why, since I've wanted more utility out of it. When I saw the storage was built on and not an add-on, I was kind of like Damnit! My biggest complaint about the F3 over the RS was the onboard storage being cut in half. I'm likely buying their saddle bags this weekend ...

I also was told by the dealer thst a hitch would work on my new f3. The dealer ordered the hitch, I went to have it installed, NOT, the hitch wouldn't work. The swing arm was round on bike. [emoji35] the hitch needed square. So, I guess stuffing my bag more, and no passengers will have to do me. I love the bike, but that would have made me think about maybe a different model.

Why are you continuing with this BS that you mounted that hitch that only fits SQUARE swing arms onto a ROUND swing arm? You already caused one guy to waste money on a setup that won't work.
That hitch simply will NOT work with the round swing arm F3 and F3s models!
Just fess up that it never worked and you had to return it.
