There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. F1 Mantis Fairing ?

Our sponsors...

I have no dealings but many here deal with ESI/Evan, Kewlmetal, Ride-On (still have to put mine in), gloryders, and other merchants and we just don't see complaints of any kind.

Very good Point Bone Crusher, I do not remember reading one bad post regarding SpyderLovers home page sponsors.
That being said, I did have a good experience with F1 (Marcel) but have read a few negative threads about his company. I want to see what comes of this purchase by Ypilot. I mean, if he was finishing the last part of the build, the black out section Wednesday, it should be in the mail by Monday. IMO:popcorn::popcorn:

I really don't know what to think. I've been promised delivery a few times but I will remain optimistic for now. I still haven't heard of another owner taking delivery of the mantis.

Frankly--- I would get your money back and run the other way. I had bad dealings with him as have many others. He just doesn't get back with customers or take care of things like he should.

I had to file with Visa to get any action. Found out he ran my Visa through some sign company in Arizona... because he didn't have his own CC machine.

Another concern would be that these units are hand made. I would question the consistency, fit, etc. He had many problems with the fit of his F1 shields.

He seems to know a bit about shields, but not about running a business.

Not sure if they really know anything about wiring the electronics for the fairing, or making things like the rear bags. It's all one big piece and I'm betting there will be problems. Cracking, hinge problems, sealing correctly, etc. I can only imagine the possible nightmares with these being their first shot at such items.

Just the way he has been marketing his setup is cause for concern. Uses the 'RT' name, markets it as an 'RT conversion', took orders before ever making a production model, used photoshopped pics of goldwing bags on a Spyder hoping people wouldn't notice, etc.

I would go with a company that has been around awhile and knows what they're doing.... Corbin, Givi, etc....

I had a bad experence with him when I order a windshield. Samething, he hits your credit card right away and keeps promising delevery and you never get it. After a bunch of calls I finally got it and I will say it was nicely packed and had no issues with the windshield. I think he just makes promises he can't keep but does nice work. Not sure I would order from him again though as I would be a little nervous one day I won't get the product

$5000.00 Wow! With a down payment upon ordering and additional funds being debited from my account in November and after several phone call and a few conversations, I still have not recieved my fairing.:( Any solid information would be appriciated.:dontknow:[/QUOTE]

I remember being lambasted when I cried foul on Marcel F1 by Lamonster and some others on this forum. I knew he was up to no good and never trusted him. Lost my $300 but someday will get it back somehow.

BUT I guess a sponsor has to be supported somehow!!! Money talks.

Sorry you lost your money, but F1 is not a sponsor if this site.

Fire,

that's a horrible story...yikes!

Doesn't someone out there live near F1's "shop"? Why not stop by and pay a visit and see whats up. As for me, I think I'm starting to see why Marcel may have been in the "hospital".

Anybody hear of spell check?

Sorry if it isn't cool to cross-post this from another site..... but those with Mantis orders might want to read this thread:

Wow, after reading that other post from TEAM F1 and Marcel July, I would of at least ran a "Spell check." :D
Sorry, just trying to make light of a nasty situation. I had a good transaction with Marcel when I purchased from him in Oct. 2008.
I hope Ypilot gets his purchase today.
Any news Ypilot?

Hi all, It has been 8 days since Marcel called to inform me that my fairing was finished and ready to go in the box for shipping. I haven't received any shipping info or packages as of today. I called today and got no answer. I left a message asking for a return phone call by 3:00 pm tomorrow. I have decided that will be my D day.:gaah: I have never said anything negative about F1 or Marcel, just looking for information. I do feel as though I've been misled and ignored.

Wow, I hope you are able to get some resolution to this dilemma very soon. Thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of us as well. Knowledge is power.

Sorry for your troubles ypilot... you have every right to be upset.

I read on 'his' forum that they also had to send out extra electronic adapters (load equalizers) to those that already received their fairings due to problems with their LED turn signals. This is what concerns me the most--- he's dealing with things he has little or no experience in. If he overlooked that, what else has he overlooked?

There's no excuse for them not answering questions or getting back to so many people. I know he brags about how his units are 'hand-crafted', but to me this just tells us he doesn't have decent mass production equipment. Neither the fairings or the bags are something that needs to be 'hand-crafted'. Certainly explains the quality and fit problems some have seen.

If this is how he's handling pre-orders, I can only imagine how he will deal with warranty problems and fixes.

There's another post about his Spyder lifts--- that states he sold 50+ of them but has yet to ship any due to the 'hydraulic parts' being on backorder for 6 months now.

I also don't get him taking full payments from people without having real units ready to ship.

That just ain't right.

Heck---we only put $1,000-$2,000 down on our Spyders.

Keep us posted and good luck!

nice to hear

Yep i guess it took a whole week to put that black piece on your windshield.....

Take pics of the install will you?

Did you just order the fairing or are you getting the rear bag section too?

Let us know how the paint looks as I went to his shop and saw two finished units and did not like the paint work so I ordered mine unfinished so I can paint it myself when I get it. Also what order number was yours?:spyder:

The fairing came in today! My order # was 196 and when I ordered the fairing I said that I was interested in the top case as well. After seeing the semi-finished design of the combo rear site case, I decided that it wasn't for me. As some of you know I have been waiting several months. I ordered this before the BRP show in D.C. My excitement has now dimenished. Here are a few pics.
