It is that time of year and I am getting several inquiries about Cold Weather Riding Gear. Nothing more exhilarating than riding snug and warm on a beautiful, but cold, fall or winter's day. Extends your riding season and great fun too!

The Firstgear Thermo is a great product. Keeps you warm at a very good price.

I also carry Firstgear heated clothing (which is relabeled Warm & Safe). Heated gear is the luxury way to go. It can seem confusing. But really, it's pretty simple once you get the options sorted out.

I have never had the need for heated riding gear. I live in Michigan and all I do is put the liner in my leather jacket, changing to cold weather gloves, and start using my full face helmet. I generally ride until the temps hit the teens in the morning and or the snow is flying whichever comes first...I am sure someday when I am older I might start needing that stuff.

I'm wanting to extend my ryding season. I have a thermal suit, but it's not handy for wearing into heated buildings. Also, going to/from the Bayou rally in March and then the Hill Country in October, I was ryding in multiple climates. I wished I had something more to compensate.

Heated gear is much more flexible than the Thermo. They both have their place. The nice thing about the heated gear is if you start out needing it on a cold morning, you can turn it down or off if it warms up. Can't do that with the Thermo, of course. It's either on or off.

The heated gear isn't bulky or look strange so you don't need to take it off when you get off the bike.

I rode thru Utah winters for 40 years just using thermals and layers and the occasional snowmobile suit. I should have bought heated much sooner. My wife gave me a jacket liner on year for
Christmas,and now I have gloves as well. Once you start you will wonder why it took you so long. IMHO Warm and Safe/First Gear is the best.
