• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Breaking News

Good one....

guess we go to outside thread and inside thread... but we will undoubtably upset or offend someone..:banghead::banghead:

I 'spose we'll hafta ask each one "what type of fitting would you like to be identified as?" :banghead: :banghead: :gaah:

Bloody good 'breaking news' tho! Can I borrow that? The painter bloke who sent me back a 'can of striped paint for a barbers' pole' cos it didn't work, only I told him it was his fault cos he put the paint onto the pole with the wrong side out will really appreciate that 'breaking news'!! I'd tell you why he'd appreciate it so much, but explaining WHY his work truck of 'oriental manufacture' is 'gender neutral' would probably get me banned here.....

Peter may have identified the issue.
It will depend on how the fitting identifies on a given day. And this could likely change with the age of the fitting and the relationship to other fittings (peer pressure).
Yesterday's "innie" may be today's "outie".
The result will be parts purchases on a day by day basis as you won't know what to keep on hand.

Does this mean I can't call my wire cutters, "Dykes?":dontknow:
Not really. That's what I call mine still. Just can't call fittings male and female. I guess:gaah:I'm not that politically correct so it stays the same as always. I really don't care what these idiots say that things should be called. Go get a life and let the rest of us have one

All this "Gender Neutral" talk, is the P.C. crap that makes me laugh and if you haven't noticed, I'm not a "touchy-feely" kind of guy, sorry. I remember back in the early days of my A.F. career, and while crewing cargo/tanker a/c in the late 80's, we had to use the term "flight station" instead of "cock-pit". One just has to wonder.:dontknow:Mac:yikes:
