• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2011 Spyder RTS.. The fuse that controls.. Horn, Heated Grips, Pilot lights (lower driving lights)
Last week I used heated grips as i do often on way to work. On way home I tried to use again, but they did not heat up.
I checked fuse and replaced it. Blew again when I turned on Pilot lights.. I have changed fuse 3 times and checked all relays in Frunk fuse box.
Today before a 200 mile ride, I changed fuse again but did not operate any of the mentioned items. At the end of the ride out of curiosity I turned on the Pilot Lights
and nothing worked... Any suggestions? No codes coming up
 
That is the only fuse i ever replaced in the 2012 RTL, only once. I suspect you have a short (to ground) in the power lead (from the fuse) going to the switches. Good Lock:spyder:

When I was at spyderfest I had pitbull look at my the rear heated handgrips because they weren't working. They said the ground was off. so they "fixed it" now I have the same fuse blowing and not even when using anything. It runs my front and rear heated grips, and horn.
Luckly its still under warranty.
 
Two ways a fuse can blow. Firsst, overload the circuit... more voltage than the fuse is rated for. Second, a positive wire or contact is touching a negative or a ground (same thing really). If you have three gizmos on the one fuse flowing, unplug each in turn and ride the bike for awhile to see if you can pinpoint which is the culprit. When you do, examine wiring and connectors, I would do this before taking it to the shop unless under warranty as electrical issues are generally the green light for huge shop bills.
