• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Radiator fan changed behavior after oil change - what would cause this?

I have a 2012 spyder RTS. I changed the oil last week and noticed that the radiator fan now doesn’t kick on when the thermostat is halfway up the gauge. The radiator fan now only kicks on when the thermostat is at 3/4, which is the red line. What would cause this? How many thermostats does my tricycle have? Did I blow a fuse somewhere?

The coolant is perfectly at the cold level when I checked this morning before turning it on. Never had a coolant leak. I changed the oil to make sure that the oil filters weren’t on backwards. I have no oil leaks anywhere. I have no leaks of any kind. 25,000 miles on the tricycle.

It sounds to me that it is working as it should. My 2012 would not come till it was over the halfway mark. Are you using the analog or digital gauges?

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I’m going crazy and imagining things.

I got 32 mpg yesterday over 280 miles. And today I got 31 mpg over 150 miles. I’m an a slow poke and never go above 60 miles an hour. According to my dash, Ambient temperature never got above 93° I live in the Florida panhandle.

I did briefly get a check engine light 4 days ago and the code was something about a battery. I parked it for an hour and came back and the code was gone. I stopped at the Waffle House earlier today and the brake failure light came on. I did the reset sequence and now it’s off. Maybe gremlins should be something I expect from a 13 year old motorcycle.
