• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt replacement

NO NO NO

I would jack the rear frame enough to raise the rear tire off the ground and start the Bike (Blocks in front of front wheels Please) and put it in first gear to make sure the wheel turns freely and see what you see and hear??? :dontknow: Easy to jack under rear frame?nojoke

ABSOLUTELY NOT!! As as been reported here before this will drive the Nanny nuts and not resettable by turning the key off. Don't do it. Jacking the rear wheel up and turning it by hand is a good idea, with the key off of course.

:agree: Nanny will read the speed differential between the front and rear wheels as an issue that needs intervention.

NANNY NUTS MY PHATOOTY

I have done it quite a few times .....including revving it a little.......got absolutely NO REACTION FROM " NANNY " :shemademe_smilie: :hun: :gaah:......Mike

Mike is right

I agree with Mike I have done it several times adjusting the belt on my 2008 GS and no problems at all!! I do make sure the front wheels are chocked, of course, but no nanny issues at all!!

The OP has an RS and theres nothing better to determine how your rear wheel is doing than Jack it up and start the engine - If the rear wheel does Not turn freely you have a potential problem? I have done this a dozen times on my GS !!nojoke

People that have never done it on a GS/RS (Bob) Should keep their opinions to themselves???:yikes:

I agree

I have run my 2011 RTS with the rear wheel off the ground with no problem. Maybe some other model Spyders have a problem if you do this.
