• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Are You Ready For Some Football?

We're having a anti NFL party. Pulled pork, Mac n cheese, ABT,s stuffed shrooms, pork shots.

Not sure what we're going to watch, but it won't be the game. Hoping there many, many empty seats at the stadium.

Not me

I have no interest in watching any sport that encourages the disrespect of the American flag. While I agree the players/team owners have the right to protest, but not when their fans are paying (too much) money to watch the game. I'm going to stay home and watch the snow fall.

Not me either. Boycott still in place here. Saw a internet news article that one of the Eagles players already made a statement that if they win--he will not be going to the white house. Looks like same old, same old to me. They can languish as far as I am concerned.

And...neither one of us has even missed our weekly football fix. Anyone want some jerseys--cheap. :roflblack::roflblack:

Interesting reactions...I happened to catch part of a clip of this very thing this morning on the "Sunday News". It was kinda funny to see how the interest in the NFL has taken a beating since 2014. Politics has become a big factor, and of course the a-hole protestors this year really took a toll. Now, whether or not those folks will actually boycott, would be interesting to know. I for one have zero interest this year either. I wish I had some farkling to do.....that would give me good reason not to watch ANY of it.:banghead: As for the original post topic, Hank did it best, but it didn't bother me when a couple of the better lookin' lady singers started to do it....LOL:opps:

i,m out....

I quit watching even before the whole knee boycot thing. When it started taking 20 min between plays and eveyone had to analyze each play right after...:banghead: but here it is at a great time to be out in the open getting vitamin D and wind therapy....:ohyea::ohyea:

I am not a defender of the NFL (did not watch a single game yet this year) but how can you accuse the NFL of encouraging flag disrespect? AFAIK no one in the NFL, including the players, has encouraged disrespect of the flag. The players who kneeled did so in protest (of something or other) while the anthem was playing. The flag was not burned, stomped upon or otherwise disrespected.

As far as your second point, the protests have been met with a variety of counter-protests and that's OK. Just bear in mind what you are protesting.

And, as far as ticket prices.....the teams will charge whatever their fans will pay. Nothing more American than that.

Personally, I see a much greater negative impact to football fans by the constant and intense second guessing of plays by announcers, "experts" and officials. As I write this the winning TD is being questioned unnecessarily although the correct ruling was made.

Okay I am corrected. Any sports players/owners that disrespect the National Anthem that is a song to show respect for the USA I will not watch.

As for the price I agree that if people are willing to pay what they charge, then good for the sport be it football, baseball, basketball, or hockey. Bottom line, the fans are paying their hard earned money to watch a sporting game, not to be forced to deal with the players/owners (I say owners because they allow it) protest. I'm sure everyone that attends the game wants nothing more than a good game.
