• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another Dealer Drops the Spyder Line

I hesitate to beat a dead horse here, but it's obvious we need more dealers, not less. BRP should provide better incentives for their Spyder dealers. Yes, I know, BRP could give a flip what I think. Who knows what those machines, and parts, are gonna cost with the tariffs hanging out there.

Performance East in Goldsboro, NC dropped their spyder line 2 weeks ago. We had an open house with free inspections scheduled for this past Saturday. Got a message that they did not renew their contract and everything was pulled. They can order parts, but no sales or service of vehicles.

I've been saying this for a couple years now. There needs to be on-road only dealers. This would fix the showroom space issue and the techs would actually know the product.

The problem with the dealer near me is that they do everything - on road, ski/snow, marine, and offroad. They don't have the techs or the space for the Spyders. No one should have to wait 4 weeks for an oil change.

I've also heard Can Am is not very friendly to work with... so that might be why some of these dealers are dropping them.

Interesting. I wonder if this is industry wide. Not the way we work at our shop. The mechanic does the work so they get paid whether the shop gets paid or not.
Again, the sign of a quality dealership. Taking good care of your employees translates into satisfied customers - that, directly as well as indirectly, is positively a reason for a good reputation.

My local dealer seems to be doing OK. They have done services my 2014 RT a few times already without any glitches. They also install after-market parts if I bring them in. So far, so good, but keeping fingers crossed that this will not change. The dealer has 3 or 4 locations in Ohio. One of those locations is close enough to me that they will do a free pick-up and drop-off from/to my home.

Just found out about Moon dropping the Spyder a couple of weeks ago when I wanted our bikes serviced for the spring. That’s a bummer because I really liked dealing with Moon. Nice folks who do great work.
They can still service Spyders and get parts. They can still take Spyder's in trade, etc. I don't know if they can do warranty work and certainly, they won't get any new machines. But it doesn't necessarily mean the end of a relationship.

You are a minority Tony, thank your lucky stars you have them!! I, myself, haven't found but two places I would feel good about taking my bike to; at one, the mechanic retired a month after he did an alignment for me; the other shop is in Tenn, and I am in Maine!! 🙄 Ron, will you pick up and deliver?🙃🙏
