• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where are you from? Where do you live?

How widespread is the Spyder community - Bloody widespread!! Like @askitee in post #49, I live in Australia, but in my case, it's South Australia, not NSW, so only 1/2 a continent away from him, and we've even got a fairly well supported local 'South Aussie Spyder Ryders' group too! (y)

Here in the Adelaide Hills, we're close to all the conveniences of South Oz's Capital City, only where we are living in the Hills, it's still pretty much rural, and yet it's within reach of just about everything anyone could ever want - lots of fantastic riding nearby in the Hills (great for Spyder Ryders who enjoy scaring the crap outta wannabe racers & sport bike riders); a major City & all that implies just to the West of us down on the plains, and some fantastic beaches beyond; the Barossa Valley & some of the World's best Wines within an hour's drive to the North; then beyond that, the Flinders Ranges, wide open spaces, and the Great Outback; the Riverland & Murray River Valley and some of the World's best Wines within an hour's drive to the East; with the hustle & bustle of Oz's bigger Cities & more populated States not much more than a good day's ride/1500 km or so away beyond them; some of the World's best Wines a couple of hour's drive to the South & South East, and a whole lotta driving/riding, camping, surfing, sailing, fishing regions & the best coastlines I've ever found; there's more of all that to the West too (including some of the World's best Wines, but they are a few days of fairly solid driving away in that direction, or an overnighter on a plane); and it's only a few days ride to the North East to reach the Whitsundays, the Great Barrier Reef, and Far North Queensland; or if you head due North for a day or six up the guts you'll hit the Top End - South Oz really is in the middle of it all! And now that I'm really retired and the kids have all grown up and got families of their own, me'n the Child Bride are right where we want to be, in amongst it all! 😁

Give us a yell if you ever head this way - did I say that we've got some Great Spyder Ryding and Wine Regions within driving range in just about every direction from here?!

Bossier LoUiSiAna (NW side of the State) where my family was (unfortunately, it's shrinking lately). Bi-polar weather/drivers & a crazy mix of roads (mostly bad). The food is a mix of food from all around. Any direction is good for out of town lunch runs (trips, hopefully no “runs”) and there's public lakes & other bodies of water for scenic views & fishing. Various other stuff depends on you.

SAY WHAT YOU WILL ABOUT THE SOUTH

BUT NO ONE RETIRES

AND MOVES UP NORTH!

Where it is appropriate, if not necessary, to have a sweat rag, just for driving. Y’all get a chance, watch 'Smokey & the Bandit' the movie, or just listen to the song “East Bound & Down” - the CB conversation depicts Snowman’s (Jerry Reed) location (20) between Mississippi and Texas - *LoUiSiAna* & crawling with “bear” (police).

We had a Filipino dish called "Dinuguan" over white rice.

Google it.

Lemme know if you want to come over and try some, LOL.

Hopefully, we can schedule a ride soon when the temps go down a bit !!
That dish sounds interesting but I'll stick with bacon. pork sausage, and chops.
