• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Analog tach and digital tach were not jiving - any thoughts?

I noticed the other day when I was running down the Interstate that the analog tach was reading 4K and the digital display on the screen was reading 3400. When I accelerated both increased but the 600 difference was still there. After stopping for gas they both started reading the same. This is the 2nd time I have noticed this. Any thoughts.

My reading of posts on this forum and my personal experience points to the analog portion of the display (gauges and indicators) is more prone to erratic behavior while the digital portion either functions properly or doesn't functional at all.

And also in my personal experience is the most important gauge is the police officer's speedometer.:ohyea:

The digital reading was what I expected to see from past experience. I normally use the analog during acceleration to find my shift points. May have to start using the digital.

Many aftermarket digital tachs have an adjustment to bring them into sync with whatever you run them on. I am not familiar with the digital tach on a 2016 Spyder. I have installed quite a few aftermarket digital tachs on brands of bikes to replace tachs that were no longer available, or not original equipment. Some, maybe not all, have an adjustment. You can hook up your timing light tach / dwell and adjust the new, aftermarket tach to it.

Possible the Spyder tachs would need BUDS to adjust an OEM tach.

Just something you might look into. Maybe you can find more information on the web or from the service manual.
