Adding Right Grill to 2012 RT

I'm trying to add a right side grill 705004803 from a 2014 RT to my 2012 RT. I want to add the grill only and cut of the bottom to not block lower opening.
I pooped off the right side plate and can not figure out how to install the grill only. Do I need to take off other parts also? I have not cut off the bottom of the 2014 grill yet but does not seem like the grill will fit with lower part on or off. What am I missing to do the install? Does any one have any pictures or video to follow?

Not really sure what you are trying to do here. Most folks get the grills from our vendor/sponsors and not from pulling grills off other oem parts. If they are the same part and only a grill was added to the newer model you may not have what is needed. On the RS/GS/RSS/ST model there is a raised edge and oneway clips that hold them in place. Not having seen these parts can't help but check with spyderpops for grills...:thumbup:

If I recall correctly, when I put the right side grill on I had to trim some plastic off the left side and at the bottom to make it fit. Took about 5 minutes. To attach it to the bike, I used Velcro that had adhesive on the backs and connected it to the horizontal bar that is between the upper grill and the lower block off plate. Easy to take off if I needed to, and held tight when I didn't.
