There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Stainless KOTT “Keep Out the Trash" grill covers install requires holes in the panels - anyone used 3M tape or anything else instead?

I just received my Stainless KOTT “Keep Out the Trash" grill covers and I now see that the install process includes putting holes into the body of the Spyder. I’m not crazy about putting holes in my RT-L, so I am asking if anyone has used 3M tape or anything else to install these grill covers?

I'm with you on hesitating to put holes in my Spyder. And your question has me surprised that I didn't even think about it when I put my KOTT covers on. Oh well, too late now. Though I'm guessing that I figured they'd never come off so it didn't really matter. Nonetheless, your question is a good one. Hope someone has an equally good answer.

My KOTT Grills are the pre screw in type and I've used 3M double sticky tape right from the start. A jack rabbit took on my Spyder one day and lost but did a job on one of the grills. Some patient manipulation got it back to OEM condition and Harvey sent me some of the screw in type of the blocks that also had 3M tape on them. Did the trick with no screws into the bike.

I had the "RT" stainless steel Logo grills when I had a my 2014 RTS-SE 6.

These were installed by using small screws and a black push pin that were included with the kit.

The grills go where the "Can Am" logo by the air flow.

I got the above on the Lower Stainless "RT" grills. website.

I did not have to use 3M tape.

I have both the Kott, which is what's on my bike, bought back in 2021 and secured with screws, and the Slingmods version for the wife's, which were bought last year and are magnetic. For ease of installation, if they had the magnet type available back when I installed them on mine, I would have gotten them instead. Plus, they look nicer than my plain mesh grills.
