• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A chance to become a published author

I've gotten bored and created an idea that I think you'll appreciate. It's about PEAK EXPERIENCES. We have all had EXPERIENCES in our lives. Mostly good ones. Some of these would be INSPIRATIONAL as well. Some would just be entertaining to read. Therefore, I've created a place where you can contribute your EXPERIENCE, see your name in print and maybe even make a bit of spending money. You can use your name or anonymous, that is up to your.

I have the website up so check it out and I'll be expecting your contribution/s.

Let me know what you think. I'm totally open to anyone's suggestions.

Your contract needs to clarify rights to the content. Can a writer submit the content elsewhere? Having editorial rights does not automatically grant you publishing rights. Also, get rid of the possessive "it's" in one of the last sentences.

It's nice to see avenues for new writers to get published. Good luck.

Interesting idea.

I have been thinking along similar lines, only geared towards fiction, preferably short stories. I am a SciFi nut, but other forms of fiction are interesting to me.

By the way, check your spelling:

PEAK Contract:

The CONTRIBUTOR will contribute an PEAK EXPERIENCE of their choosing. Suggested size is between 500 and 1000 words. The contribution needs to be in WORD 2003 or newer. CROWE ENTERPRISES INC. will accept or reject the contribution and if published CROWE ENTERPRISES INC. may use editorial discretion.

I would also be surprised if anyone would sign up under your terms:

"and if published CROWE ENTERPRISES INC. may use editorial discretion. "

If "may use editorial discretion. " means Crowe can rewrite the contribution, that will be a hard sell.

Regards,
Joe T.

Thanks for the suggestions. Flunked English all of my schooling. Thank God for word. I did rewrite the contract, corrected the spelling and added that we would own the contribution. I'm thinking that there isn't a lot of market individually for a "chapter" so a person wouldn't care about giving up ownership for 1000 words. As for changing the contribution, I expect NOT to have to anything other than look for the F word and maybe not even that if it works with the experience. If we make a little money great but I doubt if anyone expects to get rich.

A friend of mine spent a lot of time and money writing a book (Scifi) sells it thru Amazon, not making any money. I'm thinking it will just be a hoot and if a bit of money great. I've spent hours doing the web site, so I know I'm doing it just to keep out of the pool halls:cheers:

Just another little 'spelling' point - you might want to replace the '...in access of Ten Dollars...' with '...in excess of ten Dollars...' too.

I can also convert Word Perfect, or Open Office. Probably any text file, send them and I'll see.

Thanks for all of the spelling corrections. I hate looking like an idiot, but I'll never be 6' tall either.

?.. I'm thinking that there isn't a lot of market individually for a "chapter" so a person wouldn't care about giving up ownership for 1000 words...

Actually, this is not true. 1000 words or less is called "flash fiction" and there is a big market for it. Do some research on the term and see. Many publishers get rights, others allow re-publication after some defined period.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. And thank you for your contributions, the volume is coming along.

I've added a new category. "Kids say the darndest things"!! Some of you remember the TV show and it was funny, even by today's standards. So bring your children/grandchildren into the conversation and let them have some fun and even get their name in print.
