I was wondering how many miles over 600 you can go before hurting the factory waranty. The salesman told me just get in under 1000. I am at 700. I hope i am ok.
I only wish that were true.
I watched while they did the 600 mile check on Glo's
The oil and filters got changed.
That's it.
When I asked the answered "That's all we ever do'"
I pressed the point, they then checked the belt tension and took it out for a ride.
My point to all this is:If you aren't comfortable doing the checks yourself, make sure they were done.
I only wish that were true.

Just got mine back from the dealer from the 600 mile service at 800 miles. Not a problem. fixed a couple of warranty issues (had to order parts) and cost was exactly what they quoted. $346.00 with tax. Get to know your dealer and he will take care of you. Marina Boat Sales (Sea-Do, Can-Am, Honda) here in Northern CA is great. Especially since the day I bought it the battery was hooked up incorrectly and I only got 2 miles toward home when it ran out of juice. Spent hours along side the road waiting for them to pick it up and figure out what was wrong. They have been wonderful and receptive to any questions or issues.
$346.00 for the 600 mile check??? Ouch
I was just in Redondo Beach Motor Sports to pick up a riding jacket that was on order.
I told them I was picking up a 2011 RTS SM5 with 450 miles on it and wanted to get the 600 mile service done.
I asked the price...
Ready for this?
Quote was $450!!!! I said "what"? He said that would be the max counting parts but it could be cheaper depending on parts needed. Lowest was $375 best case.
I asked what parts would be optional to cause the variable price and he said it depends.
I don't think I will be taking it there at that estimated price! Ay least I have 2 more dealers I can call.
Bob
Ay my 600 mile checkup (done at 900 miles...), the service tech gave me a printed list of everything that they did, and everything that they checked.
(Rusty Palmer's in Honesdale, PA.)
Your probably okay. I would not go to much past 1000 though. :congrats: on your new :spyder2:
