• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

600 mile Maintenance

No, not Linux
Windows, actually Visual Basic.
Not Ready for Primetime by a long shot.

We are off topic here but what do you think the Spyder OS is written in?
Custom proc & code?

I assume you just read and captured the port communications and are just starting to decipher the protocol?

FYI, I am a software engineering manager and to this day still write code for the fun of it :)
Visual Studio is all setup on my home PC and I dual boot to Linux for Android OS work.

Google search "finless bob" and see what you get.... :)
I am a born "Reverse Engineer" :)

Thanks CFPS the bike runs great.

Bob, I have absolutely no idea what the SpyderOS was written in.
IMHO the big mistake those make trying to reverse engineer BUDS is that they start with CAN Bus tools & protocols.
It is true that the Spyder uses CAN BUS but where those who try with this approach wind up is a brick wall of deviation from the norm.
I have worked on and off for 3 years and have only been able to emulate rudimentary functions.
I'm not sure how CAN BUS is supposed to operate but I can tell you that the Spyder does very little in a standard way as far as I can tell.
Was this by design or happenstance?
I don't know.

Never heard of CAN BUS. I would have assumed some kind of Ethernet or something.

But interesting reading so far :)
