There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 27 story fire going on in london right now

And does anyone know how this fire started?

Early reports are an electrical fault on the 4th floor, bug to be confirmed......something like a faulty hair dryer......it was night time, too, so the death toll could be high.....tragic.

I heard on the radio news that a woman threw an infant from the 10th story window and a man caught the infant on the ground. No word on her.

It seems that the newly installed external cladding exacerbated the speed at which the blaze spread.
The 27 storey building had no functional fire alarm or sprinkler system, nevertheless the local authority
approved the £10M refurbishment of the outside knowing this. The result was many dead and injured.
The fire spread on the cosmetic cladding on the outside of the building. The heat was so intense that the uPVC
window frames melted and fell out.

Saw this on the news this evening. Just sad. for everyone and their families. They did say it's turned from a "search and rescue" to "recovery" at this point....

The 4 unit apt fire our department had a couple weeks was bad enough. Can't imagine having fires like this. I do like my small towns.... I gotta believe the death toll will double. Sad that a building like that is allowed to be occupied without a sprinkler system...:banghead:

Hi mate. Pete, formerly from Staffordshire here. What the hell is going on over there? Is my mother country becoming that capitalistic? So sorry to see what is happening over there.

Pete from Staffs......

The best that you can do, Pete is to take a look at the Daily Mirror and the Daily Express.
Here's a link to the Express' photo page: http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/81...e-first-pictures-basement-stairwell-dead-body

Ultimately the council is responsible for trying to get the job done cheaply. They seem more interested in the appearance of the building than actual safety
provisions. Only one staircase! No dedicated fire escape. Nothing has been learned from the Ronan Point disaster in the late 60s. Actually several reports written after the event
made many recommendations but some of the crucial recommendations were not acted upon.

We've seen this type of blaze before in Dubai, where the fire spreads on the outside of the building.

 The Death Toll has climbed to 17 now.

:pray::pray:
And they expect it to go higher. From what I read it looks like they still can't get into a lot of areas yet. Building renovation was just done last year. I'll bet they cut corners on the renovation & that's why the fire spread so quickly.:sour::sour: Such a shame!:pray:

Further proof that Britain really is a backwards third world country:
Labour MP Jim Fitzpatrick - chairman of the all-party Parliamentary Fire Safety and Rescue Group - said the Government has resisted calls to install sprinkler systems in high-rise blocks in the wake of the Lakanal House tragedy.
Mr Fitzpatrick, who was a firefighter for 20 years, told LBC: "We've been pressing for fire sprinkler systems in buildings where we think it's appropriate - certainly over a height level and in places where there is vulnerability, care homes and in schools - and Government has been resisting that for some time."
