• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2022 F3 Transmission won't downshift - Any ideas?

Bought a 2022 F3 Limited Special Series that was garaged and basically not ridden in over a year. Had 24 miles on it. The transmission shifts up fine but doesn’t downshift automatically or manually when slowing down. Most of the time when you stop, it downshifts. The display showing gear selection disappears in 5th gear and shifter-paddle quits working. Any ideas on a solution. Just changed the oil but nothing changed.

Well on my 998 I have had a stripped shift arm.

You can vaguely see the missing splines. The arm is soft metal & unfortunately can strip easily. Don’t know if it's sacrificial & saving the transmission. Especially don’t know if it's the same on 2022 F3's.

I would take it to the shop! Number one, there may be some warranty left on that bike. Number two, I think there's a communication problem between the paddle shifter and ecu and you may need BUDS to track it. There have been a few people having troubles with the shifting paddle, but yours sounds different. Good luck with your gremlin!

There were some '22/'23-ish Spyders getting gremlins like this in their Left Hand Control Module, and IIRC, most were covered under warranty. So as Mikey suggested, it might be well worth your while to get it checked out by a dealer. You might need/want to do some searching here first tho, to get all the necessary details for a warranty claim; I'm pretty sure it's here if you look!

UPDATE: The mechanic "relearned gear position sensor, tightened battery terminals and test drove for 30 minutes". It is shifting fine now. All covered under warranty.

Did the mechanic say how (The mechanic "relearned gear position sensor,) might be good information if this happens on the road on a long trip.
