There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2020 RT pre-wired accessory (+12V) locations - are there three?

Are there three locations?

I'm using the GPS pre-wired on right upper side.

Is there one in a similar location on the left side (with a connector on it?)?

Is there one to the upper right of battery and is it wrapped wires?

As far as I know the only Pre-Wired is on the Right side. I had my CB and GPS wired into a fuze block when I went up to SPyder Pops for some lighting and they showed me the right side connector and never mentioned one on the left even though we had all the panels off. Hope this helps.

Yes there should be three of them. But I don't know that for sure. The GPS power plug is on the right. There is another one in the rear to power the 12v plug or usb power plug in the optional top case. There should also be another one in the front to power the optional 12v or usb power plug for the front trunk. According to your owners manual page 145. Some are switchable from always on to key switched by moving the fuse. Likely the front and rear one.

billybovine--Never thought about tapping into the one for the trunk for those who have the base model. I wonder if it would be as simple as sourcing the trunk side of the connection that way you could easily unplug if needed.

That circuit is only 5 amps. But if you need more then that it is till a good source of switched trigger voltage for a relay.

1. Remove the frunk liner
2. Remove the battery cover
3. There's a slot/opening just above the battery. Feel around inside. There's 2 wires tucked inside. They are not wrapped.

wow thanks _ I can confirm that there is NOT one on left side

Had to take off entire left side today to install Lamonster tensioner

2020 RT - I found connector in rear under top back cover (forgot real name) - It just lifts up and slides out. It can be replaced for LinkQ accessories/top case/big passenger section that is on Limited edition

Thanks all - three it is

Now - any techs or others that know part no./ where to buy mating rear connector?????

The big question is mating connector ?????? - I don't want to cut it off.

BeRight---See posts 5 and 6. It's only 5V (which makes sense since it's supposed to plug into the trunk and that only runs a USB outlet and the LED run/brake light).

Amps is the amount of current flow. The accessory circuit has a 5 amp fuse and the wires are likely sized accordingly. So that circuit has a limit of 5 amps. So that limits the amount of stuff you can connect.

Voltage is the force pushing the current. The Spyder is a 12 volt system. But not really 12V. It is normally higher then that. The battery will be 12.6V when fully charged. When the engine is running the system will be between 14 and 14.4 volts. It has to be higher to charge the battery.

Watts is the amps X volts. So the 5 amp circuit at 12V is capable of handling 60W.

Yes the standard usb power plug is 5V. That conversion from 12 to 14.4 volts is done inside the power plug. Common usb power plug is 1 amp. So 1A X 5V = 5W. Rapidly becoming the more common is the 2 amp plug. Then there are the QUALCOMM quick charge usb plugs. They can output a voltage of 3.3V to 20V and up to 3 amps. Depending on the device that is connected to it.

OOPs - that what I get for making assumptions based on right side GPS plug voltage being 12V - I'd correct title but don't know how - thanks

If u can find trunk side connector - please post details!

So how did the tensioner install go. Mine came in today but to late to install. I did get the mirrors kit installed however and hopefully this will be the end of this issue

My mirrors are very steady with Lamonster kit - plus easy to install and inexpensive.

Tensioner install went fine - took my time since first time with left side plastic. 1 hour ride today very smooth.

5 minutes to install tensioner and 1+ hours to get plastic, floorboard and passenger footpeg off and back on.

Next time allot faster on the tupperware
