• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2017 Line Up - ST Benched?

The triple, and it's cooling system; wouldn't fit underneath the existing bodywork... :banghead:

If they wanted to make it work they would, where there is a will there is a way. I guess no will on BRP's part. Not good to have no entry level Spyder.

My wife and I love our V-twins, but BRP discontinuing them CAN'T be a surprise to anybody, can it? They lasted a year longer than I expected as it is.

2017 Spyder

Call her an Old Lady and let us know the out come If you can LOL
I know if I did that it would be a painfull end to the day.

Owie, I took the dare and she made me go to the gym with her and now I hurt all over! I guess it could be worse, at least I don't have to make dinner, our health would be in jeopardy.

:dontknow: Where could you hide the twin radiators?? :dontknow:

Who says an entry level Spyder has to look like an RS? They could make it look more like a cross between an F3 base model (with a better, more simple grill) and an ST base model - wide enough up front for the in-line triple, but more comfortable in the seat and leg areas like the ST is. :2thumbs: They could design a one-seat model with the rider pushed back far enough to eliminate the awkward knee position the F3 has, which may allow for a bit more storage room up front. Lots of possibilities, if the engineers are open to it.

Like Tazzel said... Where there's a will there's a way.

Heck, if they make it sexy enough, even Chupaca may trade up to one. ;) (Then again, maybe not. ;);) )

Hi SpyderGTL,

Re: 2017 Line Up

2 1/2 yrs ago I bought my '08. At that time I told myself it will be my one & only Spyder. I see nothing that would make me change my mind.

I will patiently wait and see what new :spyder:S that BRP adds to the lineup...I know that I have been extremely happy with my '14 RT, and the wife is happy with her '10 RT :2thumbs:....and looking forward to seeing more new colors on their models:clap:..Won't know till it happens ....So we need to be patient :popcorn::popcorn:.....LOL.

Wonder what the sales numbers were for the RS/ST series vs the RT. IT could be that BRP is suffering from the "harley" syndrome, older greying rider demographic wanting a cruiser / bagger platform in the F3 / RT than a young sporty image. Why push a series nobody wants to buy?

Hi Ann,

Re: I'm sad that the RTS is no longer available in an SM.

You need to join this group: older greying rider demographic

I was on a club ride yesteday; we were way outnumbered by the RT's with auto-shift.

As Mr. Dylan sang: Times, they are a'changing.

I recently read a statistic that said 89% of Spyder owners are over age 50.

My Thoughts................................

I would hope that BRP is not that short-sited to get rid of both the RS & ST.
I believe they just have not shown the full line up.

I ride a 2009 GS SM5.
I don't like the cruiser positioning of the F3. I do like the "look" of the bike.
I like to stand on my pegs if the need arises.
I don't like the RT "look", however, I would like to have the comfort portion of one.

It must be my fault. My last bike was a Yamaha Royal Star tour Deluxe. 2 years after I got it, They stopped making them. Now 2 years after I buy an ST, They are discontinued.

This is only the first phase , more model year 2017 info on August 16

Posted by "officialspyder" on Can-Am's Instagram page: "There is a two-phase launch plan for the MY17 Can-Am Spyder lineup. Yesterday we launched Phase 1, Phase 2 will happen August 16, so more MY17 product news and updates to come at that time."
