• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Has anybody installed the scoops on a '14 RT? I saw several on '13s this morning and love the look! I checked on the parts and they are available. If you have done it were there any issues?

Don't know..!!

Heard they will not be available till all the recall work is done. Had someone trying to get the scoops for a 2010 but could not...:gaah:

Ordered and received in 3 Days for the 2012 ($70 Plus $50 to Cut the panels) and I installed! Dropped panels Off and Picked up then took 2 Hours (Slow) to install at home!
2014 May be different size panels? Probably Do Not need it with the ACE1330?:hun:

13/14 Air Scoops

I have a set to do my 14 RTS but I'm too busy to start that project until I get back from my Hatfield & McCoy trip the first week in August...BUT I KNOW SOMEONE ELSE THAT WILL SOON BE DOING THIS TO THEIR 2014 BEFORE ME...STAND BY...larryd

Find it amazing just how many people want their RT's to look just like my 2013 RT. 😉

Regards
Kenn

I can not tell you if they will work on your 2014 but for clarification I had them installed this week on my 2010 RTS at Gargano GSS Powersports in East Haven, CT at no cost. The owner Bob Gargano said that he was able to get reimbursed for the work by submitting it as a good will claim. I will also add that there is a substantial reduction in heat after the installation.

Nicely done ! I'd love to see them.

I don't completely understand this thread. What would be the point in installing the scoops designed to remedy the 13 heat issues on a 14? Seems to me that it would be purely aesthetics. What am I missing?

Since when are aesthetics NOT important? :D
While there may not be the need for them on the 1330 bikes; they do look pretty awesome!
(I saw my first "scooped-up" 2013 yesterday...)

With the amount of money that I spend on must-have farkles (just ask my wife, lol!), I would never question someone wanting the scoops for the looks. Just didn't know if there was some other reason, since my 14 RT has zero heat issues.

Nope; we don't need them on the 1330s...
I like the look of them on the 2013s.
It's another visual cue, to distance them from the prior bikes...

Your Dealer CAN get the Kit for $70 (If out of warranty like me) and you bring in the Panels to get cut-If your dealer will do this (?) and then you install them. The instructions are part of the recall instructions posted in the other thread about this.
I was out in 85 degrees and never went above 4 Bars when at a constant speed! Its a Must to also take of the Acoustic panels under the Tupperware and If you have a 2010-2012 the 2 underneath panels are very easy to take off if you jack it up and look for 2-3 10mm Small bolts that hold on the lower panels-2 are attached to the middle frame.
With ALL 3 done the air enters the scoops- Flows over and around the cylinder heads and gas tank and then a Lot of it escapes underneath through the panels removed underneath.

PS: Someone PM,d me about this but its better to ask the "Whole" group.:hun:

Scoops

I have a 12 ' RTS and the scoops are being installed Aug 4th by the dealer at no cost to me. BRP good will warranty claim. So if your dealer tells you BRP is not covering older RT"s they are not going to bat for you.

Make sure you keep your receipts. If BRP ever issues a Warranty Bulletin to install the scoops on the 2012 RT's, you should be reimbursed. Since they work so well on the 2013's, that may not be as far fetched as it sounds.
