Hello all, I am so disappointed! My 2012 Limited will not start... I posted yesterday on the tech forum, about pulling in for fuel and the bike would not start. I thought the problem was that I didn't have my foot on the brake. Today after 75 miles stopped for fuel and it would not start, after sitting for a while and several tries it started back up, the radio will not work when this happens either. I called the dealer where I purchased and they said to bring it in right away and they would check it out. It has codes in the system and a communication problem, I was there when the SM called BRP Technicial Assistance. They said pull the cluster and see if is completely plugged in. It was, now they are testing all the wiring on that circuit.
I walk back into the shop and here them talking, they didn't realize I was walking up, the Service Advisor made the comment that the bike was a piece of S---! The SM saw me over her shoulder and told him to be quite. My BP went up with those words.
I went to the General Manager that I purchased from and told him the story and he understood my upset. I told him before the purchase, two things concern me, one is the quality of the product and second is being able to get good quality service. He assured me of both, his SM and Tech both were very trained and competent.
I told him I did not feel comfortable with the Roadster, it only has 200 miles on it and has failed me two times in two days. He said that he wanted me happy and did not want our friendship disrupted. He offered to back the deal out, give me my two bikes back and the difference that I paid. I purchesed the extended warranty for 3 additional years and maintenance for 3 years.
Or he said I will give you the new 2012 White Limited that will be unloaded tomorrow.
I am at a crossroad, I am somewhat uncertain of what to do. I love the darn Roadster just after 200 miles and I know the experience will only get better. The problem is that I am bummed out with the whole experience. I really want the Roadster but I need to have no worries on quality or service.
Can anyone tell me how to find a dealer service rating for the dealership that I purchased from?
