• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2010 spyder front trunk release button

I'll be darned! I never tried it on my 2011, because the 2010 only worked with the engine running (or during the 15 seconds after shut down). The 2011 does, indeed, work whenever the key is on (or during the 15 seconds after shut down while the display is active). Thanks for the clue!

Makes sense though Scotty, right. Why make the latch available only while driving down the road with engine running. Makes more sense to be able to open while stopped. Now let's address the power windshield switch.:chat:

They would probably balk at something with a motor, that would run down the battery more. Not sure why, my BMW windshield works with the key on.

You could cut the 20 ga Light Green/Gray wire from the hood actuator and connect it to the 14 ga.Light Blue/Gray wire located on the fuse block position#6.

This would put the actuator in the circuit controlled by the key but ahead of the load shedding relay.
It's also in the exact same position as the radio.

I haven't done this mod, but if you try it and if your Spyder doesn't blow up I may do it.

See diagram
:yikes: Now that's scary stuff, right there!

please !!! leave your hands of the spyder-cables ..

Thanks Rodger .. not sure I would do that as all I need is for BRP to have a reason to not cover a warranty item. I have seen the bills on warranty repairs I have not paid due to warranty coverage and would not want to have BRP void an electrical issue due to my laziness to not turn the key to open the FRUNK when engine is off. :yikes:

Hi mate", my RT 2010 Spyder electronic trunk release is working, but only with the motor running and the trunk release button pressed while holding the trunk down with your fingers. The trunk on my RT just needs adjusting because the actuator is not being pressed when the trunk is closed.

regards Peter

we have a 2010 spyder RT w/audio and convience package, the electronic release button for the trunk is there but does nothing, should it be working?? also the aux. plug will not show the wife's sansa fuze mp3 player, should it?? any and all help appreciated. should we order the rear speakers and control from BRP or are they available from another source? thanks , Rodger & Terri
