• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

12 volt plug

I recently unplugged both analog gauges (gas and temp). I wanted to know if it's possible to use the same connections to plug in a 12 volt outlet? If not, how difficult would it be to put a 12 volt outlet there?

Much appreciated,

I wouldn't do it! These lighting side of these circuits is only 18 ga wire, and will not take much load. Tapping into the light circuits cann adversely affect other components, too. You might get by with a small load, like a GPS, that is less than 3-5 amps and fused accordingly, but it would never run heated gear or anything substantial. It could also not be used for battery charging purposes. Do it the right way and install an auxiliary fuse block or tap into the existing 12V accessory outlet circuit.

I used the positive side for the lights in the fuel gauge to energize the relay for the 12volt outlet. I then connected the outlet to the battery with an inline fuse. I replaced the temp gauge with an IPOD jack connected back to the trunk with a plug on it. This way I can plug in my IPHONE and use the gps and still listen to music.
