• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    BRP Finacial Concerns

Be grateful that they have gone their separate ways. There's an old adage in aviation..."to make a small fortune in aviation you need to start with a large one". Most aircraft manufacturers have trouble keeping their doors open (even with an occasional decent order). Biz jets are a limited...

    Test Ryde

Good luck..I'm kinda getting caught up in the hype also. Logical part of me says: 1) wait for owner reports of any teething pain problems with all the new changes 2) prices will come down as dealers get more inventory and more likely to deal (should at least make up for any trade in loss). 3)...

    My new 2014 RTS

Out of the box, how's the ride and highway tracking compare to your 2011? Do you feel any need to upgrade shocks, sway bar, etc? thx

    Rear Shock

I have an air gauge in panel and generally run 60 to 65psi solo. I've got the Stage 1R Elkas, extenders and Ron bar so the front is a bit stiffer which I assume the rear needs to be also to compensate. Also, when I purchased the Spyder new from dealer 150+ miles away I found after getting home...

I hate greasing the front fittings

I have 2 that I find difficult to get the flexible hose from my grease gun on. I loosen them about 1/4 turn to get them pointed in a more accessible direction, add grease and then tighten them back up.

    Plastic belt cover

Installed a Smoothspyder belt tensioner this weekend. Fairly easy install except for an engineering oversight by BRP. When you try to remove the 3 screws for the plastic belt cover, you discover that 2 of them have floating nuts attached that you have to get a socket or wrench on. It's a...

Whos NOT upgrading to 2014 ?

I considered buying a 14 but, given BRPs record with unforeseen problems, (early suspensions, throttle body, heat issues, etc.) I'll wait it out. Many hardcore Apple buyers who have gotten caught up in the hype found out the hard way with both hardware and software problems that it's always...

    FRONT TIRE ROTATION

I had problems with Futuras, egging and cord separation. Always a rougher ride. Bought a set of 4 for Minivan, one would get a large bubble, bring it back, get warranty tire and it would happen again and again. Eventually I passed on the warranty tires and put on a set of Falkens. Van runs much...

    Slow riding question

Did you know that 98% of all Harleys ever built are still on the road?? (the other 2% actually made it home!!):D Joking aside, I've ridden in a few bike events further south than OP which were very slow going or stopped for lengthy periods. No problem whatsoever with overheating (except for me).

    2012 Top Case Leaking?

I think he's referring to the glove box on top of the gas tank. If that's the case, I'd try some small, soft automotive seal around the entire lip.

    Lower block off plate?

Lower block off was the first thing I did without changing the swoop or removing lower plastic. It was a decent improvement in heat reduction on foot and did not impact the cooling system at all. I went on to do a bunch more as I live in a sub tropical climate. Look at it another way..It's...

    Exhausting issues with my RT.

I thought it was just me...I've got a 12 RT. I had exhaust wrapped it first with no issue but after doing the cat bypass I noticed the tinny sound. I got up under there with it running thinking it was metal on metal somewhere but it wasn't hitting anywhere. It eventually went away and I have no...

    X-Mas Sopping on Spyder

You've got a high pressure area on the front of the windshield via the impacting air and a low pressure area behind the windscreen. A windshield vent will alleviate some of the pressure differential and lessen the amount of rain, bugs, etc on the inside of the windscreen. I cut a NACA shaped...

    Rear Brake Pads

I just installed a set of EBC rears that i got from Ron. Had 13500 on old ones and could have gotten another 2 or 3K out of them. Mileage is just one factor. It's really more about how often you have to brake (and speed). I'll bet with Houston traffic you're hitting the brakes ten times more...

Looking at 2012 RT High Mileage vs Low Mileage 2011 RT

You'll enjoy either one..9K diff on these is no big deal. The warranties don't even mention mileage, just years. I'm pushing 14K on my 12RT. Only time it has been back at dealer is once for a BUDs (ECM) update. Basically trouble free. I tend to agree with you that machines being used tend to be...

How do I recharge my dead battery?

Nope, nothing wrong with it. Just more convenient using the rear trunk.

How do I recharge my dead battery?

Looks like you're on an RT. If so, You can charge it through the 12 V accessory plug in the rear trunk. If you go that route you'll need to go with less amps and a longer charge (which is better for the battery anyway).
