• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Steering alignment - Shop Manual

I can't remember who I got my CD from but check the e-mail confirming your order. There may be a link in there that will let you download a copy to tide you over until you receive the hard copy of the disk. There was in mine.

    Disappointment

Scotty, sorry to hear about your problems so far. The first time I saw the RT I wondered about the suspensions capability to handle the added weight and height. Without a way better suspension I thought it might be too top heavy. My main concern is the lack of service from your dealer. That they...

    Hey Lamont!

Just read your travel thread and in particular you mention... "If you have a Spyder problem, Kurt is the man to have a look at it" Without putting you or Kurt on the spot what are the senior techs out there saying about the DPS/steering issues?? I would be interested in what the techs gut...

    F1 Mantis Fairing ?

It appears no matter how you order it, it comes unfinished. I am always nervous about wads of electrical tape instead of proper connections. Is the color match as bad as it looks in the pics? The edge finish is terrible as well. I am truly sorry and hope that you can make it work to your...

    removing the frunk

You don't need to remove the trunk like mentioned above. As Trumpybob said just loosen the top bolts and it will give you enough room to install the swaybar. You will be very happy with the results. (Sorry about the earlier misspell Bob)

    HELLOOO - NHTSA!!!

I would find another dealer. I think a huge part of the problem is that there seem to be alot of dealers out there who don't have a clue. If I was a service manager in a shop that had a Spyder sitting for months for repair you wouldn't need to nag me about it. I would want it repaired and out of...

    SE down shift RPMs

I think the manual says 2600 rpm for the downshifts. I usually shift before that except from 2nd to 1st where the auto shift seems a little smoother. No doubt that the motor is happier above 4000. Will you damage it below that??? I doubt it, but the motor certainly prefers more RPM for decent...

    F1 Mantis Fairing ?

Check our Spydertalk.com. There was a recent thread there regarding this issue and a few posts from Marcel. Lots of people unhappy it appears. Sorry to say, I would get my money back from him ASAP.

Passing it on- Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) Update

My DPS checked out fine but a "yaw" sensor was bad. I doubt that is what it is technically called but that is what my fading memory remembers

Passing it on- Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) Update

I have put a couple of thousand K on after my steering tried to head for the ditch. My dealer, which is 3 hrs away, IMMEDIATELY picked up my Spyder and within a couple of days the problem was diagnosed as a bad sensor. Part replaced and so far all is good. I did(do) still have a little...

Aerocharger taking pre-orders for Spyder Turbo kit NOW!

As owners of a "new" type of vehicle should we not be supporting anyone that is attempting to produce aftermarket parts ?? I think asmdjackal has been great about keeping us updated on a quality company, spending some serious coin to develop new product. Do real horsepower figures mean that much...

O2 Sensor - wires Too exposed?

Don't worry, it will be OK. Get some rest.

    sway bar

Combining the sway bar with increasing the shock pre-load is a nice improvement. The shocks are definitely a weak point on the Spyder and the next addition for me will be something aftermarket. Penske or ??? Many people have no problem spending cash on the go fast part but then forget the brakes...

    What to do (steering revisited)

You are right...this topic has been well discussed. If you just do a search you will find LOTS of reading material.

    horn mod?

Groundeffect....Do you sleep or are you awake 24/7 thinking about your Spyder???LOL By the time you get it there will be nothing left to learn.

    HONESTLY

As far as the riding experience goes I always mention how much fun it is to ride. I am honest and let them know there are a few bugs that are being worked out as usual in a new machine. If the person knows anything about motorcycles or has had a few in the past they usually have their own war...

    Kewl Metal

Joe makes a lot of custom stuff for other brands as well and I have a raked out front end from him on my Victory Vegas. Awesome quality and I have had good dealings with him and he is well respected on the Victory forum. It is a small company and if they are attending a bike show or some other...

    Relay replacements - in Canada

Congrats from the other side of the country! Didn't mean to give you a hard time earlier but I just have never pre-thought relays before I bought a bike LOL. Hope it comes soon so you can stare at it in your garage and review your tool kit! Cheers

    Relay replacements - in Canada

A fellow Canadian sayin "I agree with Lamont, Eh" I almost responded to your request for a pic of the tool kit but now you are over the limit. If you are this worried about relays for a bike you don't even have yet what will happen when you actually own one?

    Loud Hindle

I think it is time to get a deifinitive answer to this whole battery disconnect thing. From what I have read, as well as heard from some techs, there is no basis for this doing anything. I believe there was a post a while ago from someone with a strong electrical background and that after a...
